JUSTIFICATION BY WORKS & NO JUSTIFICATION BY WORKS

Justification (salvation) by works is indeed a true biblical doctrine.

James 2:20–26 (KJV (WS))
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

No justification (no salvation) by works is also a true biblical doctrine.

Galatians 2:16 (KJV (WS))
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

So, then what's the problem here?

Because think about how love is shown ... is it through just having love inside of you or is it showed by you actions ( works ) ... its shown by expressing the love inside of you through your actions . Meaning the faith is shown by expressing the faith inside of you through your actions . So with the story of Abraham he showed so much faith in God that the faith inside of him was expressed by sacrificing Isaac (action)

The Bible says that eternal life is a gift and is something that can't be achieved. Romans 3:24, 5:17. There is no amount of love or faith that can achieve eternal life. We are declared righteous by our faith but do not gain eternal life. Rom 3:30.

John 3: 36 " He who believes and trusts in the Son and accepts Him as savior has eternal life ; but he who does not believe the Son and chooses to reject will not see eternal life but the wrath of God " . Faith is believing and trusting Hebrews 11:1-3 " Now faith is the assurance of things hope for divinely guaranteed and the evidence of things not seen " verse 3 says that " By faith that is with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power , wisdom and goodness of God , we understand that the worlds were framed and created by the word of God so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible " John shows that faith in Jesus Christ will give you eternal life .

When reading the scripture read the whole chapter to get its full understanding . Taking bits of the scripture wont help you understand it because you are reading it out of context. If you read Romans 3:21-24 is says that our righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ . By us believing in Jesus means we are righteous .. so not only have we gained eternal life by having faith in him which is believing and trusting in him , we are also seen as righteous because of that faith . Once we have accepted him as Lord and savior we are meant to work the work we do is not receive eternal life because we already have it .. the work is to show love thy neighbour to bring them to also receive eternal life by believing in him . This love is seeing by being the body of Christ which is the church . Romans 5:17-21 makes the comparison of Adam and Jesus . Through Adam offence mankind came under condemnation but through Jesus righteous act all people became righteous . Romans 3:30 confirms you are considered righteous on the grounds of trusting and believing ( faith ) Jesus . Colossians 3:18-23 talks about working for God this work is after you have received the holy spirit . the works spoken about in James are works of God . When Matthew 28:19-20 said we should make disciples of all nations that is work ...... so once you have believe and trusted in Jesus we are meant to work , because we received salvation freely and wants us to do work in God to bring people to also receive him freely .

Try and read the bible in the amplied version to get better understanding also if you have an IOS device download the enduring word that has commentary from pastors and theologists in Christianity that will help you understand the meaning of certain scriptures

Try the NWT, "The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; the one who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him." - John 3:36. No version says that eternal life is achieved or earned through faith. A gift cannot be worked for or earned. Eternal life is given freely but only given to those with faith in Jehovah's Son Jesus Christ, still there is no amount of faithful works that can earn everlasting life. Some might think this is not an important difference but it is. God owes us nothing for what we do.

Adonai Yahweh wrote: Thu Apr 13, 2023 8:03 am Eternal life is achieved through faith ( complete trusting in God ) through this faith we receive the Holy Spirit which enable us to keep the Torah command which is to love thy neighbour . Why ? because the holy spirit nature is love which inside you ... it means that you can give love to other people . So faith and work go together ... if you have faith you will do the works of God too automatically because you are lead by the Holy spirit
If we have faith, that starts us off to a good relationship with Jehovah and Jesus. Nothing is "automatic." We must try very hard to stay on the narrow road that leads to life (Matthew 7:13,14; 21-23). It involves lots of effort. "If the righteous man is being saved with difficulty, where will the ungodly man and the sinner make a showing?" (I Peter 4:18; Matt.7:14) It's up to us to "follow in Jesus' steps" (I Peter 2:21) and keep following him. "For to this end we are working hard and exerting ourselves, because we have rested our hope on a living God..." (I Timothy 4:10)
