Prove Inanna didn't resurrect

Post by boatsnguitars »

Simple challenge. How would you disprove this happened?

The Sumerian goddess Inanna travels to the Underworld to see her sister Ereshkigal. While there, she is "struck down" and turns into a corpse. For three days and three nights, Inanna is dead, until she is resurrected with the help of her father, Enki, who sends the two galla to bring her back.

This story is from about 4000 bce – 3100 bce. There were many temples created in her honor.

Why is this not true?

God gave a secret, and denied it me?
Well, well—what matters it? Believe that, too!”

Why is this not true?
Because it is physiologically impossible for a human being, once genuinely dead, to become a living human being again. Very simple and straightforward answer here in the Science and Religion section. The question may get more play in other forum sections though, where scientific viability and adherence to known physics, chemistry, biology, etc. can be subordinate to arguments based on philosophy and existence of the supernatural.
In human affairs the sources of success are ever to be found in the fountains of quick resolve and swift stroke; and it seems to be a law, inflexible and inexorable, that he who will not risk cannot win.
John Paul Jones, 1779

The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.

That is the correct answer. I think we will get 100% of people agree that Inanna didn't resurrect, despite stories saying she did; despite the many temples built in her honor, despite her religion last thousands of years, despite all the reasons people give for Jesus - somehow, Inanna is a Myth.

I think it's because she's a woman, or brown skinned, and Christians only believe White Men can resurrect ( ;-) )

(Yes, most Christians think Jesus was a White man).

And, she even said "Jesus was White" too... These are adults! I don't know if I should be outraged or embarrassed for them! Maybe both!

Having the belief is what matters. The details, not so much.

And with good reason. From infancy, into boyhood, and as an adult he remained white.
