Porn in the Bible?

Porn in the Bible

2 Timothy 3:16 says that all scripture is God-breathed and suitable for teaching.

Including x-rated scripture?

"There were two women engaging in prostitution. The older was named Oholah who lusted after men who poured out their lust upon her. Her sister Oholibah lusted after lovers whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses." (Ezekiel 23 NIV)

Did God really intend for young Bible-reading teen girls to see this passage? Or, it this one more example showing that all scripture is not God-breathed and suitable for teaching?

I believe that the entire Bible is inspried. I believe that Ezekiel (like Zephania or Revelation) is among the more difficult books of the Bible to study, but still true, valuable and useful. I don't think that there are any concepts in the passage listed that the average teen girl would be entirely unfamiliar with.

Are you looking for a Bible study about the application of the 23 chapter of Ezekiel?

So, you believe the words "genitals of a donkey," and sperm "emissions," came from the lips of God, meant for all to read, including children, who are, according to you, not unfamiliar with such adult matters?

Those of us who don't think the Bible words are from a god, think that is unlikely, but it is certainly possible.

You, on the other hand, believe that it is NOT possible for ANY of the words in the Bible to have come from any source other than God, right?

Would you please describe to this forum what method you use, in your study of the Bible, to convince yourself that Bible passages are God-inspired?

Or, have you ALWAYS believed the Bible is God's word, and never had reason the doubt that belief?

While I don't agree the bible was inspired by any god I do agree that the descriptions in Ezekiel 23 are pretty much a "so what?" issue. Other than just another attempt to put sex into the Bible, I have to wonder what the point was in including it. Is there some moral the reader is suppose wrestle out of the story?

Men in 1500 BCE were likely no different than the ones in 2023: sex was always on their minds. There wasn't any particular point in including this story in the Bible. Some writer included it just for the thrill of it, and the editors who chose which writings belonged in the Old Testament overlooked it.

My point was that this passage is strong evidence that the Old Testament is not God-breathed.

Considering all the vile things god is said to have done, why wouldn't he include "x-rated scripture"?

God, indeed, might have wished children could find a story in his bible stories about whores and their lust for huge penises; that's certainly possible. As they say, with God anything is possible.

But, it is also possible that the writer, into whose ear God allegedly spoke, heard wrong, and so mistakenly included the lusting-after donkey-genitals passage.

Two possibilities. Which of the two possibilities do Christians think is more likely?

Sorry, but I don't buy into logical fallacies. And I have no idea what is more likely. Christians are far too varied to even guess.

There is nothing pornographic in the bible. ( Unless one has grown up in a country where they put donkeys in trousers animal genitilia is on public display, and if "genitals of a donkey" is pornographic , what pray tell would be the no pornographic description?) That said, the bible does not shy away from the sad depravity of the human condition. Unlike the perverted sexual education of today that sometimes encourages even very young children to explore the most debased of conduct, the bible always discourages immorality in favor of self control and chastity. Which is the case of the illustration in Ezekiel.

Young children are not likely to understand all the bibles descriptions and teens do well to know that scripture reports that God is displeased with debased the sexual misconduct (bestiality) the story uses in a illustrative way.
Any insinuation that bible reading families that do not censor its contents encourage moral depravity is totally unfounded, but prudes, Puritans and anti-biblists (with their oh so fake shock and horror) do well to not to read the bible if they find its content too upsetting for them.

Curious, what sexual education sometimes encourages very young children to explore debased conduct? And just what is this debased conduct?

Also, what do you regard as perverted sexual education of today?
