1) What do you understand Paul is saying?

2) Why have you come to that conclusion?

We don't know just how long the timespan is between the death of someone anointed and when they regain consciousness in heaven with Jesus. It need not be immediate. People who have died have no consciousness of time passing, so to that person it will be like they had just died, when they meet Jesus.
This ties up the question nicely, if you can just think about what I'm posting.

All deceased believers in Christ will be resurrected to everlasting spiritual bodied life at the Second Coming.

We will not regain consciousness in heaven, but on the earth.

We will not regain consciousness in heaven, but on the earth.
Most of humans will regain consciousness on the earth, but there are 144,000 who will regain consciousness in heaven when they are resurrected after "falling asleep" in death. We were created to live on the earth, and Jehovah's plan has not been thwarted by Adam dropping the ball. We will regain our physical bodies and enjoy this beautiful earth in all the ways we do now.

Jesus stated that those who believe in Him will have everlasting life:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

There is no physical body which is known to live forever!

Why do you think regaining our physical bodies is in anyway fulfilling the everlasting life promised to believers in John 3:16?? :confused2:

That's true---no physical body has lived forever, but that is what will come. God has said that we can live forever if we believe Him and do works according to His will. That is why Jesus died---so that we can live forever on this beautiful planet.

"This is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the true God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it to be inhabited..." (Isaiah 45:18)

"The earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters are covering the very sea." (Isaiah 11:9b)

"Let his flesh become fresher than in youth; Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor." (Job 33:25) This is a peek into what is in store for resurrected people in the new system of things, as well as those who never die before Armageddon. FLESH is what people will have, and it will be healthy and viable.

Thus saith Onewithhim. But Onewithhim is incorrect. No physical body which can live forever will ever come!

And if it did, it could never inherit the Kingdom of God if it was composed of flesh and blood:

1 Corinthians 15:50
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

There are two type of bodies, natural and spiritual.

There were originally two differences between mankind and God and the angels. Those differences were knowledge of good and evil, and body type.

Upon eating from the tree of knowledge, mankind can now distinguish good from evil.

The only difference between man and God and the angels now is body type. Man has a natural world body and God and the angels have spiritual world bodies.

Jesus Christ Himself confirms that for man to become equal unto the angels in the Kingdom of God, man must be born of God as a spiritual bodied being:

John

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

That which is born of the Spirit is spirit, and becomes a member of the spiritual Kingdom of God.

Why do you not believe your Savior's explanation?

<==============================================>

Do you desire to inherit the Kingdom of God?

I asked you, "Why do you think regaining our physical bodies is in anyway fulfilling the everlasting life promised to believers in John 3:16??"

Now, I've shown you that natural bodied beings cannot inherit the Kingdom of God!

So regaining our physical bodies actually restricts us from inheriting the Kingdom of God!!
