Luke describes Mary Elizabeth as "a daughter of Aaron" And a cousin to Mary. Not Davidic!
If Mary did not have Davidic blood, Jesus didn't either. There goes the Messiah claim!
Jesus wasn't an offspring of David, was he?

Ah but it's not just the father that passes on a person's genes. Certainly you know only half comes from the father, the other half from the mother. The Bible is clear that Jesus is a descendant of David. Ac 13:22, 23; 2Ti 2:8; Re 5:5; 22:16.Red Wolf wrote: Jesus not descended from David
One thing to consider,... if Jesus was the son of God, how could he be a descendant of King David, according to the flesh, from the loins of David?
If you want to believe in a Virgin Birth, then there is absolutely no way that Jesus could be the legitimate Messiah, or Christ
If God is the father of Jesus then Jesus is not a descendant of David, from the tribe of Judah. Therefore Jesus cannot be the Christ.
Mary was from the tribe of Judah and of David which Luke 3:31 points out. People get confused by Luke 3:32 which says, "When Jesus began his work, he was about 30 years old, being the son, as the opinion was, of Joseph, son of Heʹli..."
The phrase "as the opinion was" can also mean "as it was established by law.� Meaning Joseph is being noted as what we would call today a "Son-In-Law".
Heli was Mary's father and father-in-law to Joseph. So she does carry the genes of David. Joseph's line carries the right to rule since he too is from the line of David. This give Jesus both the genes of David and the right as heir to the throne.
