Christians: Do you ever feel like you have been left 'holding the bag' having to defend the Christian Testament? Forced to come up with all sorts of torturous explanations to defend the writings of your religion? Respond to the following:
EXAMPLE:
BELOW IS QUOTE FROM GALATIONS AND THE PASSAGE IN GENESIS THAT GALATIANS REFERS TO.
"But the promises were spoken to Abraham and his seed. He does not say, And unto seeds, as of many; but as of one; And thy seed, which is Christ."
"Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father. And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed"
THE CLAIM: Galatians claims that it says seed not seeds. Therefore it means one seed meaning Jesus.
THE PROBLEM: In Hebrew, the word seed is written the same in the singular and the plural: ZERA. The same way the word sheep in English is the same for singular and plural.
THE QUESTION FOR CHRISTIANS: How do you defend Galations that claims if it meant more than one seed it would have said it. As if the word ZERA would say ZERAS if it meant plural. NO IT WOULDNT.
How does it feel having to conjuring up some explanation to save the ignorant writer of Galatians who didn't know that the word seed in Hebrew is the same in singular and in the plural
CHRISTIANS: YOU HAVE BEEN DECEIVED. ARE YOU ANGRY WITH ME FOR SHOWING YOU OR ANGRY THAT THE WRITER OF GALATIANS USED DECEPTION TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE?
Christians: Does this embarrass you?

Post #31I asked if you are ignoring what I respond with because you are fearful, rude or something else. So are you doing it just to be rude, since you claim it is not out of fear?servant1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 3:25 pm [Replying to Clownboat in post #28]
I have no fear of you.
My gut tells me that it is fear that prevents you from engaging with my posts. You are afraid of what might happen if we discuss openly and honestly. It's likely because you have been taught to "not cast your pearls". A defense mechanism built in to your religion I note. Why not attempt to make disciples of all men, myself included?
I have read the book and much more. You relay a falsehood by claiming that the meat is hidden and you place limits on an all powerful God by claiming that it is unable to deliver a message to everyone. The first is found false and the second is illogical. So then you think you know the hidden meat without being taught?
You can give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day, or you can teach a man to pray for fish and he will starve to death.

If the meat isn't hidden, then explain what virgins to women mean in Rev 14:4- because those who cannot understand the meat think its literal women. Which is the majority on earth who think they know the bible, they call themselves scholars yet cannot answer that using the bible.

Post #34Those verses record promises made to Abram. Do you deny that those verses relate the word "seed" to many things to represent many people, and not just one as claimed in Galatians? How am I not understanding it?servant1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:41 pm [Replying to Athetotheist in post #30]
I think you just twist what you do not understand.

Post #36Matthew 24:45 says nothing about why the verses in Genesis relate the word "seed" to many things to represent many people, and not just one as claimed in Galatians.servant1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 11:04 am [Replying to Athetotheist in post #34]
Learn from these-Matt 24:45, then you will know.
If you have an answer, why don't you give it to me?

Re: Christians: Does this embarrass you?
Post #37This thread is not about how Christians cannot agree about how to interpret their own book. Revelations 14:4 is not a bad example of this though.servant1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:44 pm If the meat isn't hidden, then explain what virgins to women mean in Rev 14:4- because those who cannot understand the meat think its literal women. Some flavors of Christianity take the 144,000 pretty seriously and literally, some more or less ignore it while others will consider them to represent Christians throughout history while still others would say they represent the Jewish Christians that were to be delivered from the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD. Take your pick and claim you have the correct 'meat'.
Again, all it takes is for each flavor of Christianity to claim they understand the 'meat', like you do and they can feel justified as having the correct understanding. Meanwhile, my actual point that it is illogical for an all powerful God to create a message meant for every human, only to require pastors, priests and theologians to then interpret the said message is being ignored. Are you fearful to address this logical argument as I did with your 'meat'?

The 144,000= the little flock( Luke 12:32)= the anointed bride of Christ. The apostles are the beginning of that group, some are alive today=Matt 24:45 and others. Not many today, most lived in Jesus' day or shortly after. Then the apostasy came in.

Post #40This is a debate site. Grab a soap box and a street corning if you want to shout religious beliefs at people. All I would ask is that you don't harm your fellow humans while doing so. Remain peaceful please.servant1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 4:20 pm [Replying to Clownboat in post #37]

If ever you do choose to debate though, this is a great site for it.
de·bate
/dəˈbāt/
noun
a formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.
For example, a person might say:
"It is illogical for an all powerful God to create a message meant for every human, only to then require pastors, priests and theologians to interpret the said message".
If you take issue with such a statement, this is a place to voice your issue and explain why you feel that your position is valid. Shouting Allahu Akbar in reply would be an example of not debating and is behavior reserved for street corners.
Be well.
