"Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed"
(Proverbs 19:17)
"Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him"
(Proverbs 14:31)
"Give to the poor, your real treasure is in heaven"
(Luke 12:33-34)
"But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?"
(1 John 3:17-18)
While numerous pundits and preachers have called for "more God in government", P25 calls for the restriction or elimination of services which are crucial to many of this society's most vulnerable citizens, clearly violating the biblical mandates above.
Question:
How do those who want More God In Government achieve that end by excluding the aforementioned godly principles from their government?

Post #2God is a projection. Since the Bible insists on a single god, that one god necessarily embodies the values of each different author and, indeed, each different reader. Your interesting quote by Bishop Duleep de Chickera makes this point to me. A very common manifestation of religion is as an expression of the way things should be. While Bishop Duleep de Chickera's God is opposed to tyranny and yours is apparently a champion of the poor and downtrodden, the God of those that you're addressing in your question is a god of oppression and judgementalism.Athetotheist wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:46 pmHow do those who want More God In Government achieve that end by excluding the aforementioned godly principles from their government?
For every verse expressing compassion and humanity, there's one promoting racism and misogyny.
My pronouns are he, him, and his.
