What did Jesus create?

Post by snowbound »

It's my belief as well as the belief of many others that Jesus only created this 'earth' and this earth only. It's possible that he didn't even create this entire solar system, but God the Father did. God allowed Jesus to 'design' this planet and this planet only. I'm convinced that when we look up and see the trillions of 'suns' many of them have or likely have had inhabited 'earths' - and likely with humans on them. Possibly some of them have humans larger than us. Possible and in my view, likely the same.

No doubt God is still in the creation business. When this 'earth' reaches its end, God will create more 'earths' and my guess is they likely all FELL and needed a Savior. That Savior would likely be another fully human being like our Jesus was.

In my view it's illogical to believe we are the only human creation among trillions of stars AND trillions of galaxies.

@snowbound, your beliefs are all speculation. Why do you feel the need to guess about things for which there is no answer in Scripture? I don't. But according to the Bible, God the Father made the whole universe through the Person who would later become the God-man Jesus by the Holy Spirit's power. In other words, the Trinity creates, saves, and sanctifies us believers.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2  He was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Heb 1:1  Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2  but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
Heb 1:3  He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

The Book of John confirms that the Word or God created everything.

Jesus isn't mentioned, and did not exist until billions of years later.

This continues to ignore what the Bible says (see post 11). Why should we disregard the plain meaning of the text in the first chapter of John?

You might notice this is a word-for-word copy of post 13. Is that the game? I ask you to address what the Bible says, and you ignore me by repeating a claim that contradicts what the Gospel According to John says? I can play until I get bored. I can just copy and paste from post 13 if that works for you. Eventually I would like to address the argument at hand.

The "Word" is God. The Word is immortal and has existed for all time.

The "Word made flesh" was Jesus. Jesus was a man and died in His thirties.

The Word existed through it all and exists eternally.

Jesus is not the Word. He was the Word made flesh.

One is God, the other was a man.
Have you heard those things you said from God Himself?
From God Himself through the scriptures inspired by Him.

The argument is as follows in green:

What did Jesus create?

Do you agree that the green text above states the argument correctly? Yes or no?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

Who created everything according to John 1:3? The Word!

Do you agree with that?

Jesus is the Word made flesh and did not exist until John 1:14.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

Do you agree with that?

IF so, then if Jesus did not even exist until John 1:14, how did He create everything in John 1:3?

The correct answer is that He could not have!

The Word (God) created everything in John 1:3 and Jesus was made flesh as Jesus in John 1:14!

I will forever question this and you may well be correct.

God inspired the scriptures, I simply quote Him.

So it's not between you and me.

It's between you and God.

I will forever question this and you may well be correct. My issue is why is the word 'pas' used instead of holos?

'PAS' doesn't generally imply the entirety of the whole. It's actually the word 'individually.' 'Holos' means the entirety of the whole. More important is how those two different words 'pas and holos' change the meaning entirely. 'PAS' doesn't imply the entirety of the whole. You can look at other passages where the word is uses to reinforce that.

In the Greek and Hebrew lexicon there are over 130 words for all. The word is also used some 7 or 8 different ways in the bible. Prophecy experts use Rev. 13 and 17 to support a global empire and world dictator, as well as a united one world religion. Revelation 13 is a good chapter to explain some of the different ways the word all is used. But I won't go there for now.

I've written extensively on this one little three letter word.

Charles H. Spurgeon said,

(1) "... 'The whole world is gone after him.' Did all the world go after Christ?
'Then went all Judea, and were baptized of him in Jordan.' Was all Judea, or all
Jerusalem baptized in Jordan? 'Ye are of God, little children', and 'the whole
world lieth in the wicked one.' Does 'the whole world' there mean everybody? If
so, how was it, then, that there were some who were 'of God?' The words 'world'
and 'all' are used in some seven or eight senses in Scripture; and it is very
rarely that 'all' means all persons, taken individually. The words are generally
used to signify that Christ has redeemed some of all sorts\f1\emdash some Jews, some
Gentiles, some rich, some poor, and has not restricted his redemption to either
Jew or Gentile."
Can we let Bible Credentialed Lexicographers answer why the word "pas" was used in John 1:3?
Five Bible Lexicons are in agreement that "all" with Strong#G3956, in Greek "πᾶς pas" means as - every, the whole, entire, focus on totality, total, the entire creation, and etc.

Thus, by their definition the use of "all or pas" is correct as conclusively means the entire creation.

G3956 (TDNT)

G3956 (Vine's Expository Dictionary)
πᾶς pas
radically means "all." Used without the article it means "every," every kind or variety
(from Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, Copyright © 1985, Thomas Nelson Publishers.)

G3956 (Mounce Lexicon)
πᾶς pas

Does "Spurgeon" have any idea about what Jesus created?

Jesus created a path for mankind to attain everlasting life.

That's it.

He did not create the heavens and/or the earth.

God created those:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

Can we reconcile the statement with what the Father said to the Son?

Heb 1:10  And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
