Should I pretend

Post by gh78 »

I do not believe in God and can't understand why people do apart from wishful thinking. Believing in God creates a sense of purpose and meaning so rather than trying to dissuade people from this view should try to persuade them?

But, why should others subscribe to it?
I agree with what you're saying, Goat. Assuming no God, believers are essentially just listening to their "inner voice", and thereby creating their own purpose.

It is more than 'no god'. It is also the 'deist god', or if God is different than we assume. God might have a purpose that has nothing to do with mankind what so ever.
