Ok confession time. Last night my son needed a lift. Like most parents I was the taxi. On the way I made a left at a junction where no left turn is permitted. Pro: turning left goes with the traffic. Con: there is a pedestrian crossing. Pro: there were no pedestrians. Excuse: it is a common manoeuvre. Con: a police car was positioned just out of sight pulling anyone over who made that manoeuvre . Result: £30 on the spot fine, or £60 fine and 3 points on my licence if I wanted to contest. I paid the fine this morning.

Annoying thing: it is a manoeuvre I often think about but usually resist. I only took it because my son would be late.

I’ve told him its obviously his fault, he should of stopped me do something stupid .

Question: do theists obey the law of the road more or less that atheists? Honest answers please. Who's the most guilty?

Sorry I have to flip on this answer. No I don't believe it teachs anywhere in the Bible that I must follow all the laws of the country I live in.

It is very hard to read that and believe that Paul teaches that keeping to the speed limit is not God's will.

Now while there's certainly nothing scientific about this, I had a friend tell me years ago that a lot of really, really bad drivers were theists so I started watching out for this and it is true, the majority of people that I see driving badly tend to have religious bumper stickers or fish symbols on their cars. That's not to say that all of them do, or that everyone with a religious bumper sticker is a bad driver, but keep an eye out, I'm sure you'll confirm this.

LOL The deputy sheriff on the forum that's who. I am the most horrendous law breaker in the world and I admit it freely. Maybe this is the reason I havn't gone to patrol yet. I would seriously need to adjust my driving habits before I could even think about issuing a ticket. After all, how horrible would it be for me to write someone a ticket for something, then go and do it myself 2 hours later.

I actually have recognized the problem and taken steps to reduce it. Fixing it is a little longer road but at least I am on it and in gear. You should have seen me before I had kids . . . .

Are you aware of the statistics which link excessive speed with increased risk of collisions? Are you one of those arrogant bastards who believes that the statistics apply only to those idiots who are not otherwise as good a driver as you are and that your superior skill behind the wheel makes you impervious to that risk? You know that just about every accident that ever happened was the other driver's fault.
