Isn't punishment supposed to be beneficial in some way? How is eternal damnation going to teach you anything? Or even if it does teach you something, how are you going to change when you no longer have control over anything and you are forced to burn in flame for eternity? The whole concept changes and the will to change is removed. Logically, eternal damnation makes no sense. The only thing it does is completely eliminate that entity much like capital punishment does in our current legal system.

Except with regard to Christianity you do not have to commit an atrocity. You simply have to not acknowledge the existance of a supreme being.

Secondly, God would never place all His truth in anything so vulnerable to human mis translation, misinterpertationm and outright tamering! Look! you will find God's truth EVERYWHERE!

Have you ever read anything about the impressive preservation of scripture? Also, God has chosen you and I to "Go into all the world", if he places His truths in us, why is it so hard to believe that he would place his truth in a book written by those like us?
Yes, you are correct. God does place his truth in each of us. But, because we tend to be a little "hard of hearing", He also makes sure that everywhere we seek, truth can be found. That is also why Jesus left us with his Spriit of Truth; To give us an effective way to filter out what is useful to each of us. God created us to be unique. He knew we would each see the world differently, and our paths back to him would be as unique as we are. There is no need for a "one-size-fits-all" approach in our search for God. Does the Bible contain truth? Of course! Does it contain ONLY "the truth"? Of course not! And sadly, if Christians were more honest in admitting where error mistranslation has crept in, they could focus their energy on spotlighting what is wonderful, and stop trying to defend the parts that obviously are not.

The small tiny errors that have crept in do not destroy the magnifacant truths that the Bible is filled with. It is only the Bible that records truth without error. While some other religions may have some truth. The Bible is all truth. :D

So, it has "small tiny errors", but "The Bible is all truth"....

Hmmm, with logic like that, how do you ever expect to actually find out what is really true?

It seems that hell is as easy to prove as the universal terror that humans have for being outcast and/or not accepted.

Children are horrified by lonliness from the start of their lives. Anyone that has children knows the pitch level of an infant. It goes from slight cooing kind of cries, to more and more hysteria. Once a certain place has been reached a child is almost "unreachable" to console. A good parent tries to reach the child way before that.

If "God is love," than being seperated from God would be "eternal torment."

Think about how important things like going to the prom is. Why do suicides go up drastically around Christmas?

Being seperated from love?
