Reading 3 - The book of Job

Our third reading is one of the more controversial stories in the bible - the book of Job

This book is essential to the questions:

Why does evil exist if God is good?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why do evil people prosper?
Why do suffering and death exist?

What do you think?
Doubt is not the end, but only the beginning of pursuit.

i think that Job 38 answers the questions about Evil. God essentially asks Job a series of unanswerable questions, explain how the universe exists, explain how the sun is where it is, explain the tides and waves etc..... JOb doesn't know and and can't answer them. i think it represents the limitations to the human understanding of God's will, and even if god explained it to us we would still be clueless

yeah what is cool is if you look carefully you will see the things God ask Job about, are things Job and his friends commented about earlier in the story.
