Canada's shameful silence on Egypt

Post by TG123 »

In another show of brutality and bloodthirstiness, the Egyptian army moved against Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators camped out in Cairo, calling for the return of the country's democratically elected president. The army used teargas, rubber bullets, as well as live ammunition.

An Al Jazeera reporter at the scene counted 94 bodies, making laughable the government's claim that only 13 people died. According to the MB, hundreds of people were killed.

Some of the demonstrators defended themselves, and it seems that 8 members of the security forces died during their homicidal rampage.

There has been condemnation from countries in the middle east and Europe at the killings.

Global condemnation against Egypt violence - Middle East - Al Jazeera English

As a Canadian, I am ashamed by my government's silence, and the fact that Canada has not cut off all military and political ties with the murderers. We do not care about democracy in the middle east, and the shameful silence from Ottawa as a military regime is gunning down its own citizens in the street makes our claims to care about human rights across the world a sad joke.

May God bring justice and peace to the people of Egypt. May the murderers, and all across the world who support them, repent and stop their actions. May they turn to Christ for mercy and forgiveness. The blood of their victims cries out. And even if the world ignores it, God does not.

Since it is Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood, shouldn't Allah be meting out the justice rather than Jesus? I would suspect the Muslim Brotherhood would not tolerate any more influence from Jesus than that of the Egyptian army.

And, of course, this begs the question, what does Canada have to do with your request for Jesus' influence?

the reason only middle eastern countries are condemning Egypt is because the MB is worse than the current state of affairs. Its hard to support Islamic extremists

How many have the MB in Egypt killed? Of the 800 people killed in the past few days in clashes between the army and the Muslim Brotherhood, 10 of the victims were soldiers and police. You do the math.

their credo

"Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations"

"The Muslim Brotherhood's goal, as stated by Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna was to reclaim Islam's manifest destiny, an empire, stretching from Spain to Indonesia"

They also repeatedly push for civil liberties just so long as its enshrined in Islamic law.... trust me this is how the region debates if the roles were revered there would be no change. Its best just not to get involved as it's not as black and white as you think.

Human rights violations occur at regular intervals throughout the near east and middle east. While a little press time is devoted to Muslim crimes against fellow Muslims hardly any is given to Christian persecution.

There's quite a lot.

I invite the reader to surf over to the site for The Barnabus Fund and review the incidents recorded there. It's quite a revelation.

and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...

yet another reason to support the move by the Egyptian military as the MB isn't really after religious freedom.

and the Syrian regime has actually been protecting Christians from the rebels.
