For Creationists Evolution Is Not a NO but a WHEN

Consider: the Noachian flood is said to have occurred about 4,000 years ago.

Consider: "The Bible says that the rains that created the Noachian Flood lasted for 40 days (Genesis 7:17), that the waters prevailed on the earth for 150 days (Genesis 7:24), and after these 150 days the waters gradually receded from the earth so that by the seventh month and the seventeenth day, Noah's Ark came to rest upon the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4). A year plus two months and twenty-seven days later the earth was dry enough so that Noah, his family, and the load of animals could disembark from the Ark (Genesis 8:14)."

Consider: During this time every form of life not on the ark perished in the flood. (Genesis 7:4)

Consider: the Ark was only 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet tall (Genesis 6:15)

Consider: This is not a large vessel by any means. Yet it is said to have stayed afloat for 1 year, 2 months, and 27 days, during which time it would have had to carry provisions for many, many "kinds" of life forms, and many of them in at least pairs. Taking a look at the ark as pictured above, how many "kinds" of animals in pairs, AND plant kinds, PLUS food for all, do you think a vessel this size could hold for approximately 15 months?

Consider: today there are an estimated 8.7 Million species of life on Earth (give or take 1.3 million). Think the ark could hold anywhere near this number of "kinds," many in pairs, plus their food no less?

Consider: A rational answer would be, No. It would have to be a mere fraction of the number of species we now have on Earth. One-tenth of one percent would be 8,700 "kinds," but probably closer to at least 13,000 considering all those that came aboard in pairs. However, lets be generous and give Noah and family a break and say they had to only tend to a quarter of this many: 2,000 + kinds, which is still one hell of a tall order for only eight people.

Consider: These 2,000 + amount to only .00025 percent of the species now existing on Earth.

Conclusion 1: Most if not all of these 2,000 + "kinds" would have to have evolved to produce all of Earth's current species.

Conclusion 2
: Evolution is not only possible but necessary. Life does evolve.

That settled, the question now is, when? The Bible indicates that all this evolving happened within the last 4,000 years. During this time the 2,000 + "kinds" blossomed into 8.7 Million species. Almost every one of them distributing themselves throughout the world from but a single location: the mountains of Ararat; and successfully adapting to their new environments no less.

Kangaroos got themselves to Australia and kept themselves there.
Long-snouted echidnas found new Guinea to be a singularly nice home
Copper Redhorse fish only went to Canada
Giant Sequoia trees went to California
110 species of moss decided that New Zealand was good enough for them
Darwin fungi went to Tierra del Fuego
And, all the Megascolecidae earthworms burrowed their way to Australia. No mean feat.

This may not be so surprising for animals, but for plants and earthworms to go so far afield from their place of origin, the Mountains of Ararat, in only 4,000 years is quite an accomplishment. And, one has to ask, why didn't their ancestors stick around? Why didn't corn (Zea mays) leave any relatives behind before winding up in South and Central America? How did the lonely Ginko tree make its way to China without leaving any relatives along the way? This isn't to suggest that such long journeys are impossible, but for so many millions of them to do so in only 4,000 years stretches credulity.

Then there's the interesting question of exactly what form did the 2,000 aboard the ark take. Was the cat "kind" more lion like or tabby cat like? How about the shark "kind"; more tiger sharkish or whale sharkish? How about the vulture "kind"? More king vulturish or turkey vulturish? Think the lizard "kind" was more like a gecko or a komodo, or maybe like a horned lizard? Ya got your pick, a huge pick.

In the end creationists are not only stuck with having to accept evolution as a fact, they're also faced with explaining its incredible speed, and the far-flung distribution of its diversity: 8.7 million species, in just 4,000 years.
