Did God forget about Israel?

Post by postroad »

God sent the tribes of Israel into exile on account of their sins. Repeatedly he promised to restore them to the land. This has never happened or can it happen at this point. They had long since ceased to exist as a distinct people even before the first century. They could not accept or deny any Messiah. Question for debate. Are these references to a restored Israel all false prophecies?
Jeremiah 50:18-20New International Version (NIV)

18 Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:

“I will punish the king of Babylon and his land
as I punished the king of Assyria.
19 But I will bring Israel back to their own pasture,
and they will graze on Carmel and Bashan;
their appetite will be satisfied
on the hills of Ephraim and Gilead.
20 In those days, at that time,
declares the Lord,
“search will be made for Israel’s guilt,
but there will be none,
and for the sins of Judah,
but none will be found,
for I will forgive the remnant I spare.

"Romans 11:25-32New International Version (NIV)

All Israel Will Be Saved "

Have we seen any indication that Israel wants 'to be saved'?
From what and by whom?

What I observe is that Israel wants to manipulate international laws for its own
power-serving benefits. In their Rabbinical holy books Talmud they want Christ to forever remain in hell and Christians and others are tolerated if they support them.

Before salvation repentance; I think this is the same for everybody incl. Israel.
Indeed.

But who is "all Israel" anyway?

The nation of Israel today?

Or "the Israel of God", Galatians 6:15-16;?

The Samariatens were the despised descendants of whoever was not sent into exile intermarried with the Gentiles brought in to settle the land. Even 2000 years ago the identity of the tribes of Israel was lost as they had been completely assimilated into the nations into which they had been exiled. The text indicates that they will be forgiven unconditionally and restored to the land eternally...

Just because some identities are lost to men, does not mean that they are lost to God.

(Also, where in the text does it state that forgiveness is unconditional?)

Of course with genetic and cultural mixing, and the loss of knowledge, it could very well mean they are lost to God.

You don't see anyone sacrificing Rams anymore, and I've looked, there is no new law against it. There are many traditions like that no one performs.

This could very well mean they are lost to God.

The only question is: Where is God's dividing line(S)?

They are not lost to God because the blood speaks.

Even man could test the blood to see who is descended from Jacob, if man had dna from Jacob (and his sons) to test against.

God is not limited as we are limited.

Sure? Let's make it conditional. People who haven't been a nation for thousands of years and have no recollection of any genetic descent will knowingly do what?

I don't understand what point you are making. Could you elaborate?

How could they knowingly reject Christ? You intrioduced some conditional provision.

"But who is "all Israel" anyway?

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

It is clear that the Israel of God is very much part of those who 'walk according to this rule' which is the 'new creation' neither circumcised or uncircumcised i.e. either Jew or Gentile.

We must try to distance ourselves from today's Israel wich really has nothing in common with a small household by the name of Israel in ancient times.
