Should Israel continue to exist as a Jewish nation?

Post by Zzyzx »

Is there any reason that Israel should continue to exist as a Jewish nation?

Modern Israel was imposed on lands of other people by Harry Truman (the most powerful leader after WWII). Many consider the creation of modern Israel to have been a great mistake by Truman (somewhat on par with the use of atomic weapons against Japan after it had offered to surrender and the conduct of an undeclared war in Korea).

There is reason to suspect that Israel may cease to exist as a nation in the event of an expanded war in the Middle East precipitated by an attack by Israel or the US upon Iran.

It is known that Iran and other Arab nations have been supplied with Russian weapons, particularly missiles, some of which are atomic-capable. It is not known with certainty (to the best of my knowledge) whether atomic warheads have been supplied for those missiles; however, there is suspicion and suggestion that they have.

Other unknowns in the Middle East situation are the intentions of other concerned parties. We do not know with certainty which nations will or have lent support or weapons to Iran. Opening Pandora’s Box could be an apt description of the outcome of further Christian / Jewish attacks upon Islamic nations.

There is a strong possibility that an attack on Iran will result in a devastating counterattack upon Israel (and upon US interests and warships in the area) with advanced weapons, some of which may be atomic. An atomic counterattack would be justified if there is an unwarranted “preemptive” attack against Iran, particularly one involving atomic weapons.

War hawks say there is no danger of massive or atomic retaliation; however, they are the same people that said Iraq invasion and occupation would be a “cake walk” and who said “mission accomplished” in Iraq long ago.

Israel exists now only because it is supported economically and militarily by the US.

My question is: Is there any reason that Israel should continue to exist as a Jewish nation? And why?

To my knowledge Islamic states do not claim to be democracies.
Israel claims to be a democracy and as such does not have a right to be a Jewish state.
So, what is it about democracy that precludes a "Jewish" state?

Are you suggesting we increase corporate investments, outlaw corporate investment, or introduce junk entertainment and food in general as cultural weapons?

By increasing trade you increase the rate of enculturation. Which means",process by which an individual learns the traditional content of a culture and assimilates its practices and values." it is simply cultural osmosis.

Japan is a perfect example of this as an isolated island nation foreign trade has sharply shaped their culture. Enculturation is an inevitability.

It has been said jeans are the greatest threat to Islamic culture

The misconception you have is that you still exist in a paradigm of war viewing this as a weapon. Not everything has to be used violently. The more trade you allow the greater cultural change you propagate. Decrease trade and increase isolation the more you firm up a belief.

Are there any Bible prophesies that declare that Israel will or will not continue to exist as a nation? Please explain the "why's' or "why not's."

From the OP
"There is reason to suspect that Israel may cease to exist as a nation in the event of an expanded war in the Middle East precipitated by an attack by Israel or the US upon Iran".

Israel will cease to exist same as Bolsevic Russia has ceased to exist.
One way or another, Americans will wake up and kick out their oligarchs who
are raping their country's wealth. Bolsevics are today's Zionists. It would be great if they were Americans first and Israelis second.
Then we have fundy Xians who support Zionism which it total falsification of anything Christian totally blinded to the suffering of Palestinians.
Unless Israel becomes more humane, it will not end well.

Yes, they have three submarines and, since 1976, about two hundred nuclear weapons, so anyone who attempts to use force to make Israel not exist will be made to not exist in return.

Yes but question is, should Israel continue to exist as a Jewish nation.
Are you saying that because... it has a right to exist or we have no choice but permit it to exist (not that they are seeking permission).

Everyone who exists has the right to continue to exist because I hold as an axiom that it is wrong to initiate the use of force, such as we did in the Iraq War.

My question is: Is there any reason that Israel should continue to exist as a Jewish nation? And why?

My response is as follows:

The scriptures are very clear that the Lord will set his hand the "second time to gather Israel" from the four quarters of the earth, and even from the "end of heaven"

Israel as used here does not apply to the tribe of Judah alone, but applies to everyone of the 12 tribes of Israel, Judah not excepted.

Speaking of the Jewish nation of Israel, it appears that Israel is a nation of prophetic destiny according to the scriptures, In fact it is stated that every nation who will fight against Israel in these latter days will be utterly destroyed.

Has it not been also prophesied that in the latter days that "the law will go forth from Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem"?

Has it also been prophesied that a massive army will yet lay siege upon Jerusalem when in the city will bed partially destroyed and the remainder will face what appears to be imminent destruction?

In the book of Revelation is it also prophesied that in the latter days the Lord will raise up two mighty prophets in the Holy City that will be endowed with mighty powers, and will with that power send forth great calamities upon those who oppose Israel?

Is it not also prophesied that when these two mighty prophets have finished their prophesies that those opposing armies will be allowed to slay them and then rejoice and celebrate their death?

Is it also not prophesied that after their celebration, that those armies will them proceed to commence their hellish destruction of Jerusalem, only to be met by the great MESSIAH who will stand on the mount, which will cleave in two a prepare the way for the utter destruction of this mighty army, excepting the very few who will flee?

It is my observation that the mighty "Jehovah" does not fail in his decreed purposes for the mighty prophetic fulfillment of Israel's destiny. This does not say that Israel's inhabitants will not be tested to their very limits prior to their deliverance by MESSIAH.

Yes, these are a few of the reasons why Israel will exist and fulfill her mighty destiny as a nation and people of prophetic destiny!

Shalom
