If you were to believe in Predestination/Election, how would you go about explaining that to a person that just came to believe in Christ?

It was explained to me in a different way which is so much more satisfactory to comprehend.

The Bible and God tells us that there will be a predestination / election in the end times and so it happens at the end time and not before the creation.

What it really means is that at the end times then God will select (an election) of people from those who are available.

It does not mean that anyone was born elected, because the predestination is just that there will be an election at the end times.

As such every person is a candidate.

I would explain that while God does predestine certain events he neither predestines nor exercises full preknowledge of the personal choices of individual. In other words, God allows each individual to choose their own destiny and that nobody is predestined for damnation or salvation before they make their own personal choice.
