Is the Anti-Christ the devil incarnate?

Post by Claire Evans »

Is the Anti-Christ the devil in the flesh or is he just a man appointed by the devil to rule the world?

Also, who do you believe the Anti-Christ is?

The problem with the list of these people above is that none of them fit the description of the Anti-Christ. He needs to be Jewish and he can only be revealed when the third temple has been built and proclaims to be God.
Where did you get these criteria from?
I too would like to see scriptural justification for why the Antichrist needs to be Jewish. That's news to me.

Claire, can you please post the scripture you believe mandates this requirement?
The one where it says the man of lawlessness will seat himself in the temple and claim to be God. What non Jew would be in the temple in the first place?
Like a President or a King, one man represents the whole country.
Of all people it is Jews who hate Jesus the most.
It is in their Talmud which they see as their holy books.

So many Jews will claim to be God in the temple?

2timothy316 wrote: The Greek term has a twofold meaning. It refers to that which is anti, or opposed to, Christ. It may also refer to a false Christ, one in the place of Christ. All people, organizations, or groups that falsely claim to represent Christ or claim to be the Messiah or that oppose Christ and his disciples can properly be called antichrists.

1Jo 2:22 says, "Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son."

According to 1 John 2:22, anyone can be an antichrist. An antichrist supports the exact opposite of what Jesus stood for. Jesus stood for love, the antichrist stands for hate, Jesus leads people to salvation, the antichrist leads people to destruction. Jesus stands for life and the antichrist stands for death. Jesus stood for obeying his Father, the antichrist promotes disobedience to Jesus' Father. Think of anything that is the opposite of Jesus and that is the way of an antichrist.

Some might think that Hitler was the antichrist or perhaps Jim Jones. Actually, they are correct. Both men could be considered antichrists according to the Biblical definition. Antichrists were around in John's day. Satan's attitude has been infiltrating the minds of men since Adam and Eve. One doesn't have to be famous to be an antichrist. Anyone or anything that replaces Jesus as the savior or embraces Satan's attitude is an antichrist. Jesus says that he can save us and anyone that tells us 'no he can't' is an antichrist.
I agree that anyone can be an anti-Christ. There are many of them.

However, prophecy says that there will be a man or perdition.

2 Thessalonians 2

Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
He will oppose and exalt himself above every so-called god or object of worship. So he will seat himself in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.…

The Third Temple has yet to be built.
"The man of perdition" is a conglomeration of various self-proclaimed Christian sources, not an individual. It is as we view the nation of Israel as God's "chosen one." The nation of millions of people was referred to as His "chosen one."

"I shall have given water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to cause my people, MY CHOSEN ONE, to drink." (Isaiah 43:20)

Therefore we can see that something that is referred to as singular, like a man, or a chosen one, can be in reality made up of many members. The "man of perdition" is a COMPOSITE "man." He is made up of all the factions of Christendom, this many-fold "man" thinking it is too high in position to ever fall. This composite "man" has set itself up in the place of God (2 Thessalonians 2:4).

So, don't be misled....the "man of perdition" is the part of the Babylonian Whore that claims to be Christian but is not. He is a composite man. There is no single "anti-christ" or man of perdition. And there will never again be a temple built to the true God.
If that is the case, who is this beast that must be worshiped by taking the mark?

Revelation 13:16-17King James Version (KJV)
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

There will never be a temple made for the true God. The Anti-Christ will just set up it for the Jews who think it is for their God.

Check this out:

Jewish liturgy is filled with references to the Holy Temple and prayers for its rebuilding. For example, the Shemone Esrei prayer, recited at least three times a day, includes the following:

“Be favorable, Lord our God, to your people Israel and their prayer, and restore the service to your House, and accept the offerings of Israel, and their prayers, with love and favor, and may the service of your people Israel always be favored.

So too, the end of every Shemone Esrei includes a prayer for the rebuilding of the Temple and the return of sacrifices. On Shabbat and holidays there is an additional service, Mussaf, that is recited. Mussaf focuses entirely on the Temple service and includes a description on the sacrifices that were offered on that particular day. There are countless other passages in the prayers that refer to the Temple and Temple service.

Although Judaism teaches that there will be a third Temple in the Messianic era, there is much discussion on what kind of service will be performed there and when the practice of animal sacrifice will return. A number of rabbinic sources maintain that animal sacrifice will not return in the Messianic era.

So we need to acknowledge that the god of the Jews is not the same as God worshiped by the Christians.

Furthermore:

Daniel 11:31-32 (HCSB) 31 His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will be strong and take action.

Who is the man? Would not the Jews be angry when a man ceases the sacrifices at the Third Temple?

This will happen as Jesus said it would:

Matthew 25

The Abomination of Desolation
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. 15 So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination of desolation,’ described by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand), 16 then let those in Judea flee to the mountains.…

Third temple in Jewish state with Jerusalem its capital.
One thing they will not allow as it is one of the commandments,
worshiping idols.

Christians are acccused of worshiping idol Jesus.
There will not be allowed anything Christian in the whole state of Israel.
We can see it coming bit by bit.

That is why they will be horrified when the Anti-Christ demands to be worshiped as God.

Not difficult to understand. Jesus was a prophet/messenger of One-True-God and was a follower of Moses. Jesus teachings were to revive the religion of Moses with guidelines provided to him by One-True-God directly. Jesus was neither a god or son of god.
Paul and Church propounded creeds against the teaching of Moses and Jesus. Pauline-Christianity spread the false teachings in the world that were in opposition of the teachings of Moses and Jesus. Pauline-Christianity, all of its groups and sects and its priests are, therefore, collectively described as Anti-Christ. Muslim tradition describe it as Dajjal, the Devil-the Deceiver.
Right, please?

When Pope speaks Catholics accept his words. But you are not Pope.
Here we want something to back up claims. You are making so many claims I have no idea where you got it from. Are you propagating some other religion?

What did Paul write that was in opposition to Jesus and Moses? And why should we care about what Moses said? He wasn't inspired by Jesus.

Is this why Muslims consider Christians the enemy? That is what my mother was told by a Muslim colleague. Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God and that is utter blasphemy to Muslims.

Many Christians believe that Madhi is the Anti-Christ. Thoughts?

People have already tried that. They failed miserably. Even non-Christians would not tolerate such a ridiculous law.

The only way to get rid of Christianity is through education, which the Internet is currently aiding with, but that takes a long time.

Just look at how long it's taken to get the world to accept homosexuality. That still has a long way to go.

Just look at how long it's taken for cigarettes to become illegal. In fact it's still in the process. Years and years of social conditioning and we're still not there yet.

Just look at how long it's taken to get people to accept people of other races and colours. It's still a work in progress, but hey there's even been a black president! That would have only been a fantasy 30 years ago.

As it has been proven throughout history, dictators coming along and trying to force laws on people doesn't work. We just won't tolerate it. It has to be done covertly, ie through social conditioning. For Christianity to be made illegal it would need generations of social conditioning and I'm not even seeing anything to suggest that is happening. In fact a lot of Christians still hold power in governments. They would need to be weeded out first.

I am seeing Christianity very slowly dying. But that's due to education, not any plot to destroy it.

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
