Soggy Cherubim a Rusty Sword and a Waterlogged Tree

Virtually everyone's version of "God" flooded most or all of this planet at some time or another - as punishment for some human sin or other.

When the mythological Jehovah drowned all the men, women and kiddies who had never heard of him, he must have also flooded the Garden of Eden with the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Everything and the cherubim and the flaming sword.

We may understand that the cherubim could have fluttered up to the ceiling of the Dome of Heaven when Jehovah (or maybe Jesus …?) opened the windows to let in the water from outside. (Check the first Creation Myth in Genesis One.)

But do we find the trees and the cherubim and the sword in later biblical folklore/scripture/propaganda …?

Did Christian explorers searching for the source of the Nile expect to be confronted by very real guardians …?

Would they have found a rusty piece of cutlery amongst crumpled feathers under a pile of kindling …?

Do we acknowledge that we are dealing with human-written fantasy tales …?

Have New Atheists and Progressive Christians got it right …?
"God" … just whatever humans imagine it to be.

"Scripture" … just whatever humans write it to be.

Actually, for progressive Christians, this would be around 10,000 years ago.

Again, cherubim are spiritual entities, they'll stay there another 10,000 years if that's what it takes. And, since we are dealing with clearly spiritual matters here, the sword would most likely be a paranormal object, and would thus be immune to rust...
I think it's more your Fundamentalist Christian who is on the 10,000 year mark. Progressive Christians who have progressed all the way to being Atheist Christians (yes, really) have tossed biblical dating (and pretty much everything else) over the side of the gondola of the belief balloon.

A paranormal flaming sword … of course … and IT could keep flaming under the waters of the Persian Gulf. Or continue to burn brightly in imaginations of believers.

"Scripture" … just whatever humans write it to be.

The we have it, in the very "Word of God" in Revelation Chapter 22, Verse 2.

The Tree of Life from the biblical creation mythology is in the Transcendent Metaphysical Parallel Dimension Universe Heaven of biblical apocalyptic eschatology.

In a manner that stretches artistic imaginations when trying to illustrate this, the Tree of (Eternal) Life spans the River of Life that runs through the Heavenly New Jerusalem, which, if we were being biblically correct, would be at the top of this dome of biblical air in the water of the biblical universe we now live in (please check the first creation myth in Genesis).

At the risk of shouting with (genuine Christian, not Atheist) visuals (yes, they ARE extremely effective) but to assist those who continually ask me to "please explain" because sometimes my words appear to be gibberish (to some) I'll post another explanatory graphic of the Genesis Tree of (Eternal) Life in the Genesis creation myth, extending all the way through the Eve and the Talking Serpent (Fall) myth, through Christ the Redeemer, all the way to the Revelation New Jerusalem. (They missed out the genocidal God of Love sending a dome-filling flood, but you know, it's best just to display the bits you still like and can possibly still sell.)
