The A Room?

Post by Soxors »

Hey guys,

I was just wondering why athiests and agnostics are grouped together in one room? They're very different.
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athiest) wrote:Atheism is the disbelief in the existence of any deities.
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnostic) wrote:Agnosticism (from the Greek a, meaning "without" and gnosis, "knowledge", translating to unknowable) is the philosophical view that the truth value of certain claims—particularly theological claims regarding metaphysics, afterlife or the existence of God, god(s), or deities—is unknown or (possibly) inherently unknowable.
There are athiests, and then there are thiests, and agnostics are the middle ground. It doesn't make sense to group them together.

It's basically a room for non-theists. So, though atheists and agnostics are different, the existence of the A room is not to make that distinction.

Agnostics aren't not-thiests. They don't believe in either one.

In this sense non-theists are all those who do not have a belief in a deity. Atheist, who believe that there is no god and agnostics who don't know if there is a god both do not have a belief in any specific deity.
