Post #11Almost. The one belief held in common by all atheists is that there is insufficient evidence to support the claim that there are any gods.Jagella wrote: There are no beliefs held in common by all atheists.

Are you sure about that?Furrowed Brow wrote:What do they [atheists] believe in?
Can only speak for this atheist:
No one has ever walked on water.
Be careful about blanket statements. One exception, and you're proven wrong.
I agree with the rest of your post, though.

Post #13I don't know if I agree that all atheists believe that there is insufficient evidence to support the claim that there are any gods. Some atheists just don't care and haven't bothered to check the evidence for God(s).McCulloch wrote:Almost. Re: A quetion for the athiests
Post #14George H. Smith coined the term implicit atheism in 1979. It is defined as "the absence of theistic belief without a conscious rejection of it". To me that is not really a form of atheism but agnosticism.Jagella wrote: I don't know if I agree that all atheists believe that there is insufficient evidence to support the claim that there are any gods. Post #15One thing I know is that Atheists tend to believe in facts, so there is not a single fact that can be proven that God exists, so they don't believe in God. Simple as that. It's all about the facts...

waiting for somebody to answer me,
-I believe in being open to new ideas and people, understanding that your brain is constantly being changed and updated as it receives new information. With each new piece of information, you are presented with an opportunity to learn something about the world and yourself.
-I believe that if there truly were a supreme being, neither myself or any other person will ever be able even begin to grasp the concept, so I see no point in debating it. I'm open to the idea, neither agreeing or disagreeing.
-I believe in evolution. Some people cite Darwin's inaccuracies as proof the entire theory is invalid. The fact is that evolution happened in an exponential amount of ways and over an even greater amount of time. It is impossible to get every detail correct TODAY, let alone when Darwin was writing. Scientists are continually working to this day to research and refine the theory. Regardless though, the idea that some form of evolution happened has been shown through thousands of experiments and research over the years, some of which I have performed myself.
-I do not, however, deny the possibility that if a supreme being WAS behind our creation, he could have chosen to create man through the process of evolution, rather than dust.
-I believe that the religion you practice is almost always a product of your geographic location. People born in the bible belt in the US are much more likely to be Christian, whereas a person born in India are much much more likely to practice Hinduism.
-Almost all religions have complete faith their believes and history are most correct, as much as you believe your doctrines
-There are good, moral people in EVERY race, culture, gender, religion, age, social groups, economic groups, neighborhoods, gender identity, ethnicity, and belief.
-Same goes for bad people.
-Based on the fact that there are good people of every conceivable group, I support equal rights for all, including the right for LGBTQ identifying people to marry and adopt children.
-Many other things. If you want to know something specific, ask away.

Post #20I agree with Aki. I used to believe in God. For 26 years in fact. I just came to the point to where I could no longer believe in it.bautista426 wrote:why dont you guys believe in god
