There are many misconceptions that exist within the field of Islam one being the topic of women. Unfortunately due to ignorance and lack of knowledge of some people and the ever growing propaganda and Islamaphobia that exist today, including the ever growing media agenda’s that govern the way people think and act, women are deemed as being unequal to men in Islam.
We are all aware that women and men are not alike so I don’t understand when someone makes the statement that Islam should practice equality, what do you mean by equality??? This word – equality – which many thinkers in both the east and the west advocate in various fields of life is a word which is based on deviation and a lack of understanding, especially when it is attributed to the religion to Islam. One of the things that people misunderstand is when they say that “Islam is the religion of equality. What they should say is that Islam is the religion of justice.
Here we should note that there are some people who speak of equality instead of justice, and this is a mistake. We should not say equality, because equality implies no differentiation between the two. Because of this unjust call for equality, people start to ask, what is the difference between male and female?’ So they made males and females the same. We are all aware that the Male is not like the female.
God says in the Quran:
“And the male is not like the female[Quran Aal ‘Imraan 3:36] The male is different from the female in many ways, in his strength, in his body, in his toughness and roughness, whereas women are soft and gentle. Women are like men in some aspects and they differ from them in others. Most of the rulings of Islam apply to men and women equally.
In cases where a distinction is made between the sexes, the Muslim regards that as a mercy from God and a sign of His knowledge of His creation, but the arrogant people see it as oppression and injustice, so he stubbornly insists on claiming that men and women are the same. So let him tell us how a man can carry a foetus and breastfeed it? He stubbornly ignores the weakness of women and how they bleed during their monthly period, and he stubbornly refuses to accept reality.
But the Muslim is still at peace with his faith, surrendering to the command of God. “Should not He who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves), All Aware (of everything) [Quran al-Mulk 67:14 ]

Yes, common sense says don't beat your wife. The qu'ran says beat your wife. What does that tell you about the qu'ran?HaLi8993 wrote: @ A Troubled Man

ANSWER: Why would anyone in there right mind believe that it would be permissible to beat your wife, common sense tells us this is wrong, as Muslims we know exactly what this means.
So, you follow your own sense, not God's word? Interesting.

Now HaLi, you know as well as I do that there is no single authority and no agreed upon methodology in Islam. Different Muslims disagree about what Islam is and how to do it. There is a lot of confusion. That's simply a fact.@ Autodidact
QUOTE: "Well there is certainly a lot of disagreement among the translators. And among Muslims. You have the Muslims who say they should beat their wives, and those who say you shouldn't. The Muslims who say women must be covered from head to toe, and those who say they can wear any reasonable outfit they like. Those who say it's fine to kill any non-Muslim who refuses to convert, or any apostate, and those who say this is strictly prohibited. I could go on and on. To the non-Muslim, there appears to be a great deal of confusion about the meaning of this book"
ANSWER: There are many translators that make mistakes, to a non-Muslim who is confused, they must look at the evidence provided and not believe everything he hears or is told by people or the media which have their own agenda's, rather he/she should look at the authenticity of the evidence provided and speak to knowledgeable people that can help him with his guidance to the truth.
Which is one of the many ways we know that an all-pwerful and omniscient God did not choose this method to communicate His wishes to us. Because it's an extremely ineffective way to do it.
You're the one who said that your God made it confusing on purpose to test us. In the internet we have a word for that, we call it trolling.QUOTE: "Ha ha. Ha ha ha. That is certainly a creative argument. Ha ha. So, your God is basically a troll? Ha ha ha"
ANSWER: I would be concerned with this type of response considering the fact that you are in breach of the forum rules, such attitudes are not accepted, to clearly ridicule and mock someone's belief  in my opinion is a clear reflection of the person's inability to debate on an intellectual level.
Or not, if one thinks that would be a total waste of time.QUOTE: "Right. A just and merciful God, who wants all of humanity to know Him, provides a single book in a single obscure language unknown to 90% of humanity. THAT makes sense. Not"
ANSWER: It's up to the individual to learn his/her religion it doesn't come on a silver platter, rather one must strive and try his upmost best to learn the language in which the Quran was revealed in order to get a better understanding of the meanings.
ÂQUOTE: "Science doesn't prove things. The Greeks figured it out around 300 B.C. The knowledge was lost, and regained somewhere in the medieval era. I don't know whether the Chinese knew it or not.Â
I don't think I have made myself clear maybe this will help"
ANSWER: What exactly did they figure out can you be a bit more specific please, I am not denying they knew things however there is no way of knowing such integrate details as described in the Quran. Â
[wiki] That is, by the second century B.C.E., the Greeks had figured out that the earth is round, and about how big it is. We note that the qu'ran does not contain this knowledge, it came from science.Eratosthenes (276–194 BC) estimated Earth's circumference around 240 BC. He had heard that in Syene the Sun was directly overhead at the summer solstice whereas in Alexandria it still cast a shadow. Using the differing angles the shadows made as the basis of his trigonometric calculations he estimated a circumference of around 250,000 stades. The length of a 'stade' is not precisely known, but Eratosthenes' figure only has an error of around five to fifteen percent.[17][18][19] Eratosthenes used rough estimates and round numbers, but depending on the length of the stadion, his result is within a margin of between 2% and 20% of the actual meridional circumference, 40,008 kilometres (24,860 mi). Note that Eratosthenes could only measure the circumference of the Earth by assuming that the distance to the Sun is so great that the rays of sunlight are essentially parallel.
Read your post. It says that all these translators are confused. It describes the confusion in the translations.QUOTE: "And in the same post, you want to claim that there's no confusion? Together with a lengthy exposition on the confusion? Really?"
ANSWER: Where is the confusion??Â

Hello again. The word flat does not have to be used in the description to convey the shape of the earth.wrote:If I were to show you the verse and explanation of the earth moving you will most likely say the same thing, that it is says no such thing and this is not what it is implying.
So if the Quran meant that the earth is indeed flat then where is the verse that uses the word flat?
The main issue is that the Quran never mentions the world is a sphere. Not once. It never mentions the earth moves. Not once. It states the sun and moon chase each other, creating night and day. Which is a perfect description of the two revolving around the earth.
Earth spread out (like a carpet), mountains firm…15:19
· God made earth like a carpet spread out…20:53
[Ta Ha 20:53] "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.
The earth is like a carpet spread out…43.10
[Nuh 71:19] "'And God has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out),
Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation.
Sura Az-Zukhruf (43:10)
Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way.
Sura An-Naba (78:6)
This conveys a flat earth. Now, ANY mistake can be explained away by adding to what is stated. So Muslim apologists like to pretend its refering to the mantle of the earth, being spread out like a carpet over the earth.
But again, its YOUR claim that the Quran is miraculous, yet it does not say that at all. You cant take the stance how amazing the Quran is and yet have to take two verses and use hundreds of words to try to convey what is actually being stated.
If the Quran is so amazing, you wouldnt need apologists writing entire paragraphs adding to what is stated.
Does it mention the mantle? No. Does it mention that carpet is over the sphere of the earth? No.
It says the EARTH is spread out like a carpet or bed. This conveys a flat earth.

As I stated a few times. There isnt anything in the Quran thats miraculous. In fact, most of the supposed miracles are either common sense or were already known.wrote:Can you please show me evidence that this was known earlier by the Greeks and that the waters mix.
Case in point. Muslims love to say that NO ONE could have possibly have known about the seperation of the waters. The problem you are having I have noticed is that you accept whatever is told to you by your "scholars". You are being lied to.
It is said the Quran is amazing for showing a round earth....yet no such verse exists in the Quran. Not only that, it was already known to be round hundreds of years earlier AND the circumference was measured, only being 2% off by the Greeks! Now, thats amazing. Would you agree then Zeus is real?
Aristotle:"The drinkable, sweet water, then, is light and is all of it drawn up: the salt water is heavy and remains behind." Seperation of the waters.
Its absurd to state both interpretations are true, since they're both stating something different. One states the waters touch while the other states land seperates them. It also makes the claim that its not visible to the naked eye and that the salt water and fresh water do not mix.wrote:What we have seen according to most of the authors of books of tafseer (Qur’aanic commentary) is that what is meant by the two seas here is the two well-known types of water that are found on earth:
1) Rivers of fresh water
2) Seas of salty waterÂ
The evidence for this interpretation is the verse in which Allah says, describing the two seas (interpretation of the meaning): “one palatable and sweet, and the other salt and bitterâ€ [al-Furqaan 25:53].Â
With regard to the barrier between the two seas that is mentioned in this verse, there are two scholarly views concerning it:Â
1)Â That what is meant by the barrier between the two seas (i.e., between rivers and seas) is the vast lands that separate the rivers from the seas, so that there is no mixing of their waters, rather each of them has its own course and destination that is separate from that of the other.Â
This is the literalist interpretation that we find with many of the commentators.Â
Al-Haafiz Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “and He has set a barrier and a complete partition between them [al-Furqaan 25:53] means: between the sweet water and the salty water
“a barrier, i.e., the dry land
“a complete partition i.e., an obstacle that prevents one of them reaching the other.
End quote from Tafseer al-Qur’aan al-Azeem, 6/117Â
2) That between the two “seasâ€, the fresh and the salty, there is a barrier that is not visible to human eyes. God created it by His decree and it prevents mixing of the fresh water with the salty water even though the two waters meet at the mouths of rivers. This was narrated by al-Qurtubi from Ibn ‘Abbaas, and as-Suyooti attributed it to a report from ‘Abd ibn Humayyid from Qataadah. See ad-Durr al-Manthoor, 6/371Â
Imam al-Qurtubi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water)â€ [an-Naml 27:61] i.e., a barrier by His will, lest the salty mix with the fresh water. Ibn ‘Abbaas said: A barrier by His decree, so one does not change the other. End quote from Tafseer al-Qurtubi, 13/222Â
Al-‘Allaamah at-Taahir ibn ‘Aashoor (may Allah have mercy on him) said:Â
He created the barrier between the two seas in His great wisdom. It is a virtual barrier resulting from each type of water pushing against the other so that they do not get mixed, because of the relative difference in density due to the different components of salt water and fresh water.Â
So the barrier is made of both types, and it is not something different that separates them.
End quote from at-Tahreer wa’t-Tanweer, 20/13Â
There is no reason not to adopt both opinions in interpreting this verse, because each is correct and there is no contradiction between them. The barrier may indeed be dry land that separates rivers and seas, and it may be a virtual barrier (resulting from differences in density) which oceanographers speak of today. This is a different understanding, but there is no contradiction.Â
Dr Husayn al-Harbi says:Â
… The first type of different interpretation of the verse, which applies if all the different interpretations are possible for a particular verse and are supported by texts of the Qur’aan and Sunnah. This type of differences is possible and all the views are true and of equal worth because they are correct, and all these views are what the verse is referring to, and the Qur’aan testifies to each of these views.Â
End quote from Qawaa‘id at-Tarjeeh ‘inda al-Mufassireen, 1/42-45Â
Therefore the point is there is a barrier that prevent  them from mixing.
If this is your stance, then the Quran is wrong. They do mix. And its observable by the naked eye. If you want to go by the land interpretation, fine. But its not miraculous since its easily observed. Its common sense. Salt water is not drinkable, water from springs and lakes are. Land seperates them.
So this is another example of already being known, common sense and the Quran actually being wrong.
Again, nothing miraculous about the Quran so far.
The first translation that used the word clings was in 1971. No translation before that stats such a thing. So AFTER science discovers how embryology really works, THEN the translation comes along to go hand in hand with it.wrote:The word 'alaq' besides meaning a congealed clot of blood also means something that clings, a leech-like substance. There is no way that the Greeks could have known the initial stages of development appearing  like a leech, without the equipments used today.
One would need a powerful microscope in his laboratory which requires electricity not to mention glass for lenses and other sophisticated technology.
The Quran: "Verily We created man from a product of wet earth, then placed him as a drop of seed in a safe lodging, then We fashioned the drop a clot (‘alaqa), and of the clot (‘alaqa) We fashioned a lump, and of the lump We fashioned bones, and We clothed the bones (with) meat. Then We produced it as another creation."
So the order is: Sperm, clot, lump of flesh, bones, flesh/muscles.
Now, its a scienfitic fact that bones do not come before the flesh, muscles. Of course Muslims apologists backtrack by stating that its formed from the genetic materials as X, Y, Z...so technically its correct. So once again, the Quran makes a statement and the solution is nothing the Quran actually claimed.
But wait, the Greeks beat Mohammed once again. By a thousand years. Read that again, a THOUSAND years. Look up embrylogy from Hippocrates, Aristotle and Galen.
So I ask again. Please present a single instance in the entire Quran of something no human could have known at the time, something so amazing that was not known previously and/or an indepth description of something miraculous that is actually stated in the Quran. Something that doesnt have a simpler, more direct explanation.
So far, you claim of miracles: Quran says earth is round. Not only does it not, it was already known and measured by the Greeks.
Seperation of waters. Known either by the Greeks or through common sense. And....the Quran is wrong if the translation is about the waters not mixing, because they do.
Embryology. Nearly identical to the Greeks, which were known a 1000 years before the Quran. And scientifically incorrect.
Thanks!

The sun does indeed catch up to the moon, that's how we get eclipses. Looks like the Quran is wrong again.HaLi8993 wrote: "It is not permitted to the sun to catch up the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to law)"
It is daytime at the North Pole for some weeks, no night whatsoever. Again, the Quran is wrong.
Yasbahuna literally means "swimming" in Arabic, not rotating on it's axis. The sun and moon rotate on their own axis. The Arabic verb "sabaha" (yasbahuna) in verse 21:33Â
That is a curved path an object takes around a point in another object.ANSWER: What's the meaning of a orbit??
No, the sun and the moon are not part of the earth. Duh.ANSWER: So if this verse is not talking about the earth then according to you its not flat either, so the sun and the moon are not part of the earth??

ANSWER: The Quran does not mean beat your wife the way you are referring too, it tells me that you have a lack of understanding of Islam, we have discussed this matter however you are still persisting on your denial that it means you can violently beat your wife.Â
No we don't follow our own sense because a true Muslim doesn't beat his wife, we follow God's laws.
One must look at the Arabic word used in the verse and the context it is being used in, in order to understand it's meaning, as mentioned before one word can have many meanings.
Islam teaches the Muslim men how they should live with their wives in kindness and love and to not intimidate them or upset them on a general basis according to the commands of God Almighty and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
If you want to interpret it as beating your wife, that's fine but you cannot claim that Islam accepts such a thing without any evidence apart from just saying you believe it means beat.

ANSWER: They are not confused, some translations have errors in them because it is hard to translate a word in Arabic that has many complementary meanings to a language that has mainly one meaning to a word, hence trying to find the right word to translate into English gives no justice to the meaning of the word itself.
Thus its not just a case of bad translation, the words in arabic have multiple meanings and all cant be used at once however deeper analysis shows that all the meanings are accurate. This however is not likely to convince you, Â but to say the verses are irrelevant is incorrect.

ANSWER:Â The Arabic word dahaha in Noble Verse 79:30 has multiple meanings and uses. One of them was when one refers to an ostrich egg. Another was when referring to making something extended, spread out, stretched and/or expanded. This is an example of how Allah Almighty uses scientific notions in the Noble Quran when He talked about how He created certain things. He gave words that had multiple meanings and interpretations to them to make the Noble Quran truly be for all times and all places, and show it has deeper meanings. The meanings unravel more and more as scientific discoveries increase
The shape of the earth being similar to an oblate spheroid which is what an ostrich egg is considered as.Â
How would it make sense for God to describe the earth as an 'Oblate spheroid' 1400 years ago? God knows best but maybe this is why there is no reference implying the earth is round because it would be incorrect. Describing the Earth as resembling an ostrich egg is very significant and precise as it was not only unique at the time but is still accurate and visually relevant.
If we didn't have books telling us the intended meaning of the verses then we would not understand its meaning, one must understand that each verse came for a reason, and at different times throughout the course of the Prophets life.
The word used is evidence itself "to wrap around" - you cannot wrap something around a flat object it is not possible. Do you see where I am coming from? We are not assuming the meaning of the verses without any unsupported evidence, it is clear and proven by science itself.
I want to ask you a question: When scientists want to find the cure for a particular disease what do they have? If I told you that a rabbit can swim what would your answer be? It is science that is discovering that the sun doesn't catch up to the moon, it is science that is proving what is written in the Quran as truth.Â
Furthermore the Quran does not need to go into detail about the crust, all we have to do is show that what it is saying does not go against established science. If the Quran gave scientific measurements and details about every little issue, it would be a million times bigger then it is and not befit the purpose it was revealed for.
The description given was emphasising a certain point regarding the way the surface of the earth is vast and spread out, for which it uses the term carpet. This is clear from the context provided. The Quran then goes onto clarify the actual shape of the earth as being egg shaped. Both are clear, and not against established science. So if you read the whole Quran, and the particular verses in question it will be clear to you that in one part the surface is being referred to and in the other the shape of the earth is given, both put together or looked at seperatly are correct. Simple deduction will lead you to this.
The verses did not need to go into great deal about the intimate details because  it is not a book of science. The descriptions and words were made so they would be easy for the people of the time to understand, and be easy for us to understand today. This again is clear by virtue of the fact that the verses do not contradict any established scientific fact.

QUOTE: "As I stated a few times. There isnt anything in the Quran thats miraculous. In fact, most of the supposed miracles are either common sense or were already known"
ANSWER: This is not true such scientific discoveries that have only been discovered not long ago could not have possibly been known 1400 years ago. Can you please give me an example of something that was already known.
QUOTE: "Case in point. Muslims love to say that NO ONE could have possibly have known about the seperation of the waters. The problem you are having I have noticed is that you accept whatever is told to you by your "scholars". You are being lied to."
ANSWER: lol, we are not lied too, however I don't disagree that deviant sects in Islam are. In Islam we cannot blindly follow what anyone says about the religion of God, this would be a great injustice, what we are taught is to always ask for authentic evidence in support of anything that is said about Islam, when one considers and uses rational, reason and logic one will see the truth, this is the exact problem I see with many people also, they are told Islam is this and that without researching the other side of the story, they are just blindly following what is told to them also, it is injustice to yourself and others to not seek the truth and look at both sides of the story.
QUOTE: "It is said the Quran is amazing for showing a round earth....yet no such verse exists in the Quran. Not only that, it was already known to be round hundreds of years earlier AND the circumference was measured, only being 2% off by the Greeks! Now, thats amazing. Would you agree then Zeus is real?"
ANSWER: No such verse exists that it is flat, however there are verses that suggest taking into account what we know of science today that it suggests the earth is round.
The Greek mathematician Eratosthenes came to the conclusion that the earth was spherical. The actual fact however based on scienctific research is that the earths shape is oblate spheroid, hence the earth is not a sphere, as was put forward by the greeks.
If what is said is true that Muhammad (peace be upon him) wrote the Quran and copied the greeks - why would he not actually copy what they said? I mean surely he would also have written the earth is a sphere shape. In actual fact if we look at the Quran, it states the shape of the earth is egg shaped and not a sphere.Â
The shape of an egg being oblate spheroid, just like the earth. This clearly proves that the Quran did not copy from the greeks, because if it had it would have said the same thing, and not corrected the mistake the greeks had made. This information is not from the greeks, but is from the creator himself.
QUOTE: "Aristotle:"The drinkable, sweet water, then, is light and is all of it drawn up: the salt water is heavy and remains behind." Seperation of the waters"
ANSWER: This has no mention of the barrier that exists, this is just explaining the separation between the two waters in the sense that they are different. That is common sense.
QUOTE: "Its absurd to state both interpretations are true, since they're both stating something different. One states the waters touch while the other states land seperates them. It also makes the claim that its not visible to the naked eye and that the salt water and fresh water do not mix.Â
If this is your stance, then the Quran is wrong. They do mix. And its observable by the naked eye. If you want to go by the land interpretation, fine. But its not miraculous since its easily observed. Its common sense. Salt water is not drinkable, water from springs and lakes are. Land seperates them.Â
So this is another example of already being known, common sense and the Quran actually being wrong.Â
Again, nothing miraculous about the Quran so far. "
ANSWER: I don't understand what you mean, it doesn't say they touch, they are both saying the water does not mix either by land which we know is correct or my a barrier which can be considered as land also.
Yes the barrier is not visible, so how would it be common sense??, maybe this  link will help you understand what the barrier is referring too.

QUOTE: "The first translation that used the word clings was in 1971. No translation before that stats such a thing. So AFTER science discovers how embryology really works, THEN the translation comes along to go hand in hand with it"
ANSWER: The word Alaq itself means to cling the Quran came before 1971.
Such detail could not have been known back then without a sound knowledge of physiology no one possessed such knowledge 1400 years ago, the clot of blood is a zygote that God is referring too. This is when the sperm of the male unites with the ovum of the female, the essence of the baby is then formed. It will grow and eventually become a "piece of flesh".It actually clings to the uterus.
How could this have been known??
QURAN: Surah Alaq 1-3
"In the Name of your Lord Who created man from a blood clot. Recite: And your Lord is the Most Generous."
QURAN: Surah al-Qiyamah 36-39
"Does man reckon he will be left to go on unchecked? Was he not a drop of ejaculated sperm? Then a blood clot, which He created and shaped, making from it both sexes, male and female?"
QUOTE: "The Quran: "Verily We created man from a product of wet earth, then placed him as a drop of seed in a safe lodging, then We fashioned the drop a clot (‘alaqa), and of the clot (‘alaqa) We fashioned a lump, and of the lump We fashioned bones, and We clothed the bones (with) meat. Then We produced it as another creation."Â
So the order is: Sperm, clot, lump of flesh, bones, flesh/muscles.Â
Now, its a scienfitic fact that bones do not come before the flesh, muscles. Of course Muslims apologists backtrack by stating that its formed from the genetic materials as X, Y, Z...so technically its correct. So once again, the Quran makes a statement and the solution is nothing the Quran actually claimed"
ANSWER: Lets have a look:
Man is created from the purest and the best sperm that is also drawn with ease.
The sperm is injected into a secure and firm base, the female's egg.
The sperm develops into a leech-like substance.
Then the leech-like substance develops into a chewed-like substance.
Then from the chew-like substance bones are created.
Then the muscles wrap around the bones.
Both bones and muscles form adjacently. Â However, the wrapping of the muscles around the bones happens after the muscle precursor cells begin their development into muscle. Â
God referred to the precursors' development and the wrapping of the muscles around the bones in Noble Verse 23:14 by saying:
"then we clothed the bones with flesh."
Why did God Almighty specifically chose to say then we clothed? Â It is because the verse wasn't speaking about which was created first, the bones or the muscles, but rather, it was speaking about the wrapping of the muscles around the bones happens after the creation of the the bones.
According to science bones and muscles happen relatively almost at the same time; "adjacently" to each others. Â But, the formation of the bones happens before the muscles are wrapped around them. Â
QUOTE: "But wait, the Greeks beat Mohammed once again. By a thousand years. Read that again, a THOUSAND years. Look up embrylogy from Hippocrates, Aristotle and Galen.Â

Please present a single instance in the entire Quran of something no human could have known at the time, something so amazing that was not known previously and/or an indepth description of something miraculous that is actually stated in the Quran. Something that doesnt have a simpler, more direct explanation"
ANSWER: Yes, no doubt these people knew of embryology however not to that extent, can you show me an example of something that these people knew of that is found in the Quran.
Honestly if these things are not proof enough then I don't know what is, Â there are plenty of books that talk about the scientific discoveries in the Quran, my suggestion is that you do your own research.
