Blasphemous "How-To" Book

Post by TwentyOneSix »

A recently published book has come to my attention and I feel it is necessary to warn my fellow Christians about literature's newest strike against religion. The author purports to make religion into a hobby that anyone can do, and goes as far as to insinuate using scrap materials out of one's garage to build pagan idols for worship! These people sit around drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes and doing lord knows what else, they put some words on paper and think they're good enough to be the lord himself! What's worse, the misguided and ignorant masses blind to the guiding light of god are buying into this filth! This book not only insults Christianity, but the entire concept of religion itself!

This is why we shouldn't teach public school children to read and write; the liberal public school system indoctrinates them into a hollywood-controlled and godless society by strictly enforcing atheism on them, and then our tax dollars teach these pitiful brainwashed kids how to commit travesties like this! If we could only limit the teaching of literacy to good, law-abiding, religious, private school children then things like this wouldn't happen.

Here's a link in case anyone doesn't believe me:
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

- Looks back upon the Middle Ages as the good old days.

- Thinks genocidal crusades against believers in other religions is justified in order to unify nations under Christianity.

- Appears to disbelieve in most science (including apparently a disbelief in the existence of Earth's atmosphere!)

- Discounts the usefulness of medicine apparently because illness is a punishment from God and attempting to cure someone is an attempt to thwart the will of God.

- Apparently supports the imposition of the burqa upon women so that no part of their body will be visible. Naturally, concepts like sexual freedom, birth control, etc. would be right out.

If I have mischaracterized any of your view above, please feel free to correct me. If this is in fact an elaborate farce, congratulations, it is very convincing.

Metatron wrote:I have to say that if you could simply substitute the name Allah for Jesus, the Taliban would welcome you into the fold with open arms.
I hardly see how my views fall anywhere close to those of violent terrorists who worship an ancient demonic spirit.
Are you kidding me? If the Taliban had a recruiting poster, the items that I listed above that you agreed with would be on it. Only the name of the deity is different.

Oh and by the way, Muslims do not worship an "ancient demonic spirit". Allah is simply the Arabic word for God. Their religion, like Christianity, has its roots in Judaism and has some commonality with Christianity. For example, they acknowledge Adam, Moses, Abraham, and even Jesus (though as a prophet rather than the son of God.) Not exactly demon worship.

I've read all of TwentyOneSix's posts in this thread, and I now must smoke a joint and drink some Jagermeister for I am too overwhelmed at how doomed this planet is.

Both will last longer than America.

The only reason your country is what it is is science. Science gave you nuclear weapons, the train, the car, the computer you're posting on...

Also, as a physicist, I'd like to ask you a few questions:
Do you believe in the Neutrino?
Do you believe in the Quark model?
Do you believe in Gravity?
Do you believe in Electromagnetism, the Strong Nuclear Force and the Weak Nuclear Force?
Do you believe that light is composed of photons?
If you answered 'yes' to the above, then your claims are redundant and inane.
If you answered 'no', may Allah have mercy on your soul.

WOW, Your 18 and your already a physicist?

you may want to practice some civility, steryotyping american people as obese is offensive.

Considering your in Ireland, and Germany was near to invading Britain in WWII and was only defeated by American intervention, you should be on your knees thanking us. Also, don't forget about WWI, wow, actually, America saved Europe from destruction in both WWI and WWII.

Yea, and how about we take out our missile defense equipment in eastern Europe, lets also kick the United Nations out of our country and stop funding 23% of the organization. We should also stop welcoming the Immigrants from all across the world. According to you America is obese and fat and full of lazy people. Why is America a magnet for immigrants from across the world then?

Actually, you forgot to mention the Gravitational force along with the other 3 fundelmental forces. Quite the blunder for a physicist.

And being a physicist you should know that these four forces are fine tuned for life. Why is that so? How did they get that way????

Involved in active research. Albeit rather dull and unimaginative.

I was merely fighting fire with fire; retorting satirically to TwentyOneSix's post.
Sorry if that was a little too subtle(It wasn't).
Also, Ireland owes you nothing; you didn't save us. If you're familiar with Hitler's agenda, you'll know that Ireland wasn't on it.

If by welcoming immigrants you mean discriminating against horrendously, then you'd be right.
Also, please, let's not get into this debate as it holds little on us and is, hopefully, irrelevant at this time.

I've highlighted them. If you need further assistance, contact a science teacher. Please read my posts and check the context before responding again.

The fine tuning argument is akin to firing an arrow at a wall, painting a target around it, and gasping in awe that the arrow hit the target perfectly.
However, I shall respond to this. I am trying to find out how they got that way; I'm being productive. I'd be glad to hear any verifiable and coherent theory you have on the subject, but saying "God made it this way" explains nothing and is simply a ludicrous assertion, and thus is baseless at best.

Furthermore, do you have any theoretical work to show that life is 100% impossible with any variations on constant and laws of this universe? Also, more importantly, can you give me any evidence that we are the aim of the universe?
It seems to me that we're just something that happens in this type of universe. I, of course, am fascinated by this, and am endeavouring to understand what I can of it.

Also, from here on, I am removing my age, as it seems to infer that I don't know what I'm talking about; make of this what you will.

Edit: Semicolon misuse.

After looking at that author's picture, I'm thinking he'd have had better success writing a book called "Best Fast Food and Greasy Food in America", since he seems to have a lot more experience with that than with God.

Personally I think it's a great idea, as the Christian god has no visible form, and we need to have something solid that we can focus our attention on. In fact maybe I can ask the publisher to let me produce the book in different languages, as everyone could have their own personal god, and they would not end up fighting with each other. Thanks for the tip! It was the best idea I've heard of for ages!

Its ranked at 3,350,924 in the list of books selling on Amazon. Probably not a very interesting writing.

Scotracer wrote:Since you believe humans are made in gods image, god must be pretty rubbish if people can be so easily led astray by virtual violence and hedonism.
Temptations are placed in our path to test our worthiness to get into heaven. Those weak souls who reject god and ignore religion because it's "too complicated" give into temptations and live lives of wicked sinfulness. The world has been cleansed in deluge and conflagration times beyond counting, it will not be long before the faithful are raptured once more and the sinful die in their muck like filthy diseased roaches.
Scotracer wrote:Also, it's quite interesting you know the titles of those games, particularly the last one.
A pamphlet it handed around our church to warn parents about threats to the souls of their children. My wife and I have not been blessed with children, but I like to do my part in warning others. All of the "games" listed reward players for mass murder, acts of terrorism, and even rape which is depicted explicitly on screen. It's like pornography.

It has also been brought to my attention that the game "Mass Effect" rewards players for global genocide, as well as encouraging homosexuality and bestiality. You go from planet to planet dropping nukes and killing billions of people, while capturing women on your space ship so you can have your way with them (you can play as a female character, a lesbian). The game encourages you to commit bestiality with the alien women.

One of my neighbors was so offended by what he read that he started a petition to make the "game" illegal, my wife and I were among the first to sign it.
Scotracer wrote:How do you explain the Charles Whitman case then? That happened long before video gaming...or the Olean High School shooting that happened before any "murder simulators" existed. Oh and it's interesting, isn't it, that the vast majority of these shootings have happened in US schools, which according to yourself is the greatest nation on earth.
Books are plenty guilty for warping children as well, because any godless psychopath can write. However, electronic media holds more of the blame because it's more graphic and requires you to take part in the sinfulness. Children these days also play video games more than reading, and most schools have worked out a system where children play video games instead of learning from text books. I can't say that's any better or worse than it was before, children haven't learned anything of value in public school since some satanist decided it was illegal to mention god in school.
Scotracer wrote:And "exposing" children to a perfectly innocent part of society is bad, how? Are you afraid they'll "turn gay" or something?
Like violence, exposing children to homosexuality will make them want to try it. And then they're gay, and their souls are damned to hell for all eternity. If that's not bad enough for you, the gay also have AIDS, which kills people all over the world. Thus, being gay is like committing murder.
Scotracer wrote:I respect women enough to let them make their own informed choices in life.
What makes you so sure that women are making their own decisions in life? Sinful women are just as programmed as sinful men. Had they been shown god's grace at the right age, they could have grown into respectable Christians. Instead of reading to their children from the bible though, most parents these days instead plop their children down in front of the TV, or worse the Xbox, and leave them to raise themselves with role models like South Park and Grand Theft Auto.
Scotracer wrote:Japan is a minor nation?! Are you freakin' KIDDING me? It's an industrial powerhouse and without it your first world lifestyle just wouldn't be the same. Japan is a major power and will be for a long time to come.
Japan is an island populated by heretical demon-worshippers. They make TVs and video games, what more evidence do you need that Japan is the pathway to hell?
Scotracer wrote:Well thanks for calling my nation, which created yours, backward.
God created the world and its nations, not men. You must have serious issues to compare the powers of your nation to those of God.
FinalEnigma wrote:out of how many games on the market? That's what you're missing. What about rainbow six, where you play as an elite swat team and fight terror plots against the US. is that bad?
I will admit that I don't know how many different games there are, I'm only aware of the ones my church warns the parents about. I did hear about that golf game from Nintemo (I think they call it "Wing" or something like that), it could have been something child friendly but then they made it so that you can use swords with the controller and kill the other golfers. I'd lighten up on video gaming a little if every machine they made didn't have to be all about killing a bunch of people, it's ridiculous.
FinalEnigma wrote:actually, you're full of it. there are school shooting back to 1902, using pistols, sniper rifles, and all manner of weapons.
Books are not entirely blameless.

FinalEnigma wrote:pretend their classmates were aliens? they weren't 6.
Without proper religious education, they may as well have been.
FinalEnigma wrote:you're missing the point here. People don't shoot up schools becasue a game told them to. They do it becasue they are not mentally stable, or have been driven past the breaking point.
Rejecting God and the bible in favor of killing people for fun sounds plenty unstable to me.
FinalEnigma wrote:I'm not the one who thinks all women can be brainwashed by mass media. I defend their ability to choose what they want, and I defend an approach that affords them the respect to choose their own path.
Women are as easily programmed by TV as men are. When your parents make you watch pornography instead of reading to you from the bible, it destroys your soul and leaves you brainwashed by hollywood. What could have been good little girls grow up to be whores and adulterers, what could have been good little boys grow up into thieves and serial killers..
FinalEnigma wrote:or am I a hiker, too? and a runner, and a swimmer, and a nature-lover, and a reader, and a programmer, and a singer, and a writer, and 50 billion other things?
How about "blasphemer"?

Because America is god's favored land, the devil is also more focused on destroying it.
FinalEnigma wrote:c) we are the only industrialized country where the income gap is growing. the poor are getting poorer. the rich are getting richer. in every other industrialized country, they are growing closer.
Soon their rich will be poor and their poor will be rich, then it's a moot point.
FinalEnigma wrote:d) Japan especially, and many other countries, are vastly outstripping us on education.
Public education means nothing if children aren't properly introduced to God and told how to get into heaven, a teaching most parents these days fail to give.
FinalEnigma wrote:e) our health care system is terrible. Both Canada and England's are superior, for example.
A health care "system" is unnecessary. God will decide who lives and who dies, who is well and who is sick.
FinalEnigma wrote:f) many other countries(including Sweden) are far more progressive than the US, promoting human rights over corporate interests, where we fail.
Humanism is what led europe down the path to destruction in the first place. We do focus on corporations more than we should, but if more of those corporations worked to promote god it wouldn't be such a bad thing.
FinalEnigma wrote:if Japan is wallowing in sinfulness, why is our crime rate 5 times higher than theirs?
if Sweden is wallowing in sinfulness, why are they more progressive and more supportive of human rights than us?
Japan's crime rate is lower because less things are crimes; if we legalized rape and child molestation, our crime rate would be just as low too. America has stronger morals than that, thankfully. Japan's low crime rate simply proves how amoral they are, to legalize things we would call crimes.

As for Sweden, supporting man-made "human rights" IS a sin, because the rights of humans have already been laid out for us. It's called the bible, you should read it some time.

Praying through homemade idols instead of directly to God is how demon-worship gained footing in the first place.

They're just these things that have been proven to exist and underpin the universe.

There is nowhere dark in the universe.
Also, your idea of God violates special relativity; I suggest reconciling this.
