What is the correct vision of the Universe?

Post by harvey1 »

Let's suppose that we were born yesterday, but in our birth we were granted all of the knowledge that we currently possess except for the knowledge about what is the correct vision of the Universe. For this, we have to think it all out here, and come to the best conclusion possible. So, stating your reasons, what do you think is the vision of the Universe in terms of how best to explain it from a visionary standpoint? That is, consider the order we see in the universe, why is it like this (galaxies, stars, planets, life, etc.) versus something much more simple like one particular "oscillating" charge of up and down polarity, or a "flickering" light (virtual photon) that appears and disappears, or perhaps a "1" followed by a "0." Is there any reason to consider that we are more than just bugs that hit a windshield at 60 mph from the some kind of objective perspective? Or, are we just dressed up roadkill like the atheists suggest that we are? How do you know?, what are your reasons based on being born yesterday?

All that we accept as true, is individual. As your senerio suggests, we start out as clean slates, and slowly infer logic and reason from the sensor inputs to to our brains. So is that it? Are we truly limited to those flickering electrical blips in finding meaning and value in our lives, and in understanding our place in it all? I think not. Here we are up against the scientist approach of requireing everyone to agree, or at least not to be able to disprove the group conclusion, versus the "each" approach centered on what we seem instinctively to "know". And while the latter catagory seems at a disadvantage since physical proofs are not available, I submit even the scientists end up exactly there. Our perception of the universe is 100% subjective to the person next to us. And while we each consider ourselves to be objective, we still make choices for what we consider to be reasonable and true. But we are not limited in our ability to see beyond this, our circumscribed existance. It is from those who refuse to be limited by what is known, that mankind moves foward on the backs of our genius'.

So to answer the question, there is no "correct" vision of the Universe, from the physical standpoint. However, from a non-physical standpoint, we have a built in "guide", or compass that adds life and direction to our physical inputs, and allows packaging the Universe "correctly" for each observer.
