Why don't more Christians believe in reincarnation?

Hello,

Why don't more Christians believe in reincarnation? Reincarnation doesn't negate the possibility of eventually going to heaven. It just means it won't be after this one lifetime.
May all your naps be joyous occasions.

Because it is extraneous to the understanding of Christian reality and explains nothing about GOD, life on earth nor salvation.

As well, the religious trappings that usually go along with the belief in reincarnation such as karma, non-personal justice, and the ability to become enlightened ie saved from evil by practice is anathema to Christian thought.

GOD may in fact reincarnate some people if HE decided to but it would be without the demonic religious meanings of the Eastern religions. imho

PCE Theology as I see it...

We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.

This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

The Bible explicitly denies the possibility of this purely eastern ideology.

"It is appointed unto men once to die, and then comes the judgment."
- Hebrews 9:27

The ideology of reincarnation is illogical in that it seeks to negate responsibility and ultimate judgment. There is none of either if one simply takes another 'at bat' another swing at the ball, so to speak.

It is heresy in that it contradicts the teaching of the Holy Bible.

It is unfounded in fact, as Jesus demonstrated in His own flesh that God intends resurrection, not reincarnation, to be the destiny of those who have been judged righteous. Resurrection is the gift of an extended life, body and identity to the one that has been blessed with the second birth.

The second death, or the death of the spirit, is the destiny of those who are unrighteous, those who have not the second birth, and those who have denied the will of God in their lives.

Finally, what is righteousness? Biblically it has little to do with being a good guy or gal. It has nothing whatsoever to do with adherence to ideology either western, eastern or neutral. It has nothing to do with acts of charity or love. It has everything to do with humbling one's self to the will of God and being born again.

"Unless a man is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
-Jesus
