I have to tell a sort of funny story. When I was in the hospital for a major operation, a priest came in to see my room-mate and her sons. They asked him to do some kind of prayer where they use the wafers. I don't know what you call it, because he didn't have any wine. He checked around in his frock and found a half of one in a pocket. This is what he used. Respect? Isn't that supposedly the body of Christ? I couldn't believe it.
If you are speaking about respect... then may I ask, at the end of the memorial, what do you do with all of the unleavened bread and real wine (representing the body and blood of Christ), that no one has eaten or drank?
Peace to you, and to your loved ones,
your servant and a slave of Christ,
tammy

Post #32I believe that there may be anecdotal statistical variances. However, the dire predictions of the climate change crowd and the links to human activity are little more than attempts to support crony capitalism, at tax payer expense. in my opinion.Blastcat wrote:You don't believe in global warming?bluethread wrote:
For the same reason you probably find the JW's boring, the belief that it is all apocalyptic hyperbole.

Post #33Acknowledged, and I commemorate it as part of the Seder, as He did, to honor the covenant establishing the government of Adonai's people that has existed ever since and He fully exemplified in His life and death.JehovahsWitness wrote: [Replying to post 21 by bluethread]
We don't preach global change but, thanks to the ransom we do believe Jesus will bring about globlal governmental change. This notion was introduced even in the garden of Eden, we commemorate Jesus death to honour his death that made that government possible.

0pinion vs science[/center]
What about that evidence?
Anecdotal?
I've never discussed global warming with a skeptic before. We usually get evolution skeptics in here.. I should learn about this.
What do you say about the scientific studies?

I view global warming as having been proven BY science. To believe it is to OBJECT to big business and political conniving. What of the FACT that there are billions of tons of crap injected into the atmosphere constantly by Industry? Wouldn't this affect the air somehow? It is also a FACT that Industry dumps billions of tons of chemical waste into our waterways and this affects the temperature of the oceans and the health of fragile ecosystems. Wouldn't that have some kind of influence on the health of our atmosphere? Wouldn't it be reasonable to give credence to atmospheric warming?

I actually don't know what voting "green" is. I don't vote.
I asked fair questions, but you avoided seriously answering them. Perhaps I'm taking things too seriously.
Gotta lighten up I guess.

We bury them in a ritualistic ceremony while our young virgins chant by candlelight of course... no seriously we send the tons of uneaten bread to UNICEF ....
Sorry, no seriously, Jehovah's Witness do not believe the bread takes on special qualities after the ceremony; whoever brought the wine can take the rest home .... the bread is a bit dry and crusty for most people's taste but it's just bread so whoever made it can eat it or thrown it out. Jesus isn't inside of the bread and he's not in the wine.
What do you do?

The Bread is symbolic of God's Word, the wine is symbolic of the revelation of the Spirit, and the oil is symbolic of the anointing. If you do not combine all these elements you get religious dogma not the truth of the Spirit. There are two Word of God. The letter that killeth and the spirit quicken or makes alive. The Bible is nothing but dead letter without the Spirit
