Restricted subforum - Sacred Scripture:

Post by JP Cusick »

Hi here - I am just asking and wondering.

There is a section of this forum called "Sacred Scripture" and I tried to respond to one thread and got denied saying that I do not have permission.

It has just one person "Talishi" posting, and all from Oct 2016, and it says that she is the Moderator, and that is confusing to me.

So why call it as "Sacred Scripture" and then lock out any response comments?

That is fine by me if that is what you really want, and so is that what the forum wants?

Just a little confused here. :?:

You have to be part of the user group "Sacred Scripture". Simply join the group and you can post.

Click on "usergroups" up in the top menus. Or click here:
groupcp.php?g=13685&sid=054f38b85d375ee ... e621346497

So far there is only the one member, the person who started the group to begin with and she hasn't been around since October last year.

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

Okay - I see what you posted - and I clicked it to join - but that info is not in the section called "Sacred Scriptures" so I would never had figured this out.

Perhaps you might consider making that plain by creating a "sticky" or some notification in that section so people can figure out how to join.

I would have never guessed to use the link "Usergroups" above, and maybe that is why there is no activity there.

I see it gives the forum rules but does this section have some other kind of rules or procedure?

I was not the one who created the subforum and I don't even know what it's main intention is or whether it's even worth having it as nobody has ever participated except the person who asked for it to be created.

Perhaps Otseng or Zzyzx may be able to help? I will bring it up in the moderator's subforum.

There's been no activity there lately, so I've archived the subforum.

Well I did not want to get rid of it.

I just joined the group, and I was going to post a reply.

Why not just open it up to general participation?

The moderator of that subforum is no longer active. Would you like to takeover as the moderator?

Yes - I would be happy to be the Mod there.

And I like the title of that group too as "Sacred Scripture".

Would I be able to create a "Sticky" telling how easy it is to join the group?

Would it be okay to change the criteria of this group?

As like change this = HERE, as in saying any "sacred scriptures" instead of just the Bible.

And let it be a discussion as well as debate by changing this = HERE, or just delete that because the forum rules still apply.

The idea is to make it less restricted.
