If it had proven it would we be here debating it? God reveals God. You reveal yourself and I myself.

Post #3modern science is based on the principle of cause and effect. Nothing comes from nothing. Aristotle the father of philosophy wrote there must be a first cause. . Modern science is pretty much based on that principle. We don't know what that first cause was , that's the million dollar question but we know logically there must have been a first cause Christian theology says it came from a pre bang rational idea called logos.
Makes sense to me.

You are misinterpreting it:
Only nothing comes of nothing. 0 = 0.
Only something can come from something. X may be transformed to something or many things.
Something can not come from nothing, neither can nothing come from something.
No thing can be created from nothing.
Actually, it is unreasonable for you to believe that even God can summon matter from nothing. Very irrational to make the assumption.
Aristotle made many mistakes, you are going to hold on to a pagan philosopher's poor judgment to support your true religion?
Isn't that like building your home on a foundation of whipped cream?

Post #6My words are accurate but your summary of my words is twisted.
The "belief" does not equal the facts, and the belief was that God created the heavens and the earth.
Science then showed that there was a beginning to the universe thereby a creation day or creation event, and thereby science proved that the creation belief was an accurate and true belief.
Science proved the creation but not necessarily proved that there is a Creator.
Kind of like proof for gravity in that science can only show the effects of gravity so we can not see the gravity but only the effects of gravity to prove that gravity is a real thing.
The same with the Big-Bang shows proof of the creation.

I thought the OP was about 'God', not necessarily the Christian god?

Post #8Perhaps if you followed the thread you would see that dio9 brought up Christian theology and Justin108 simply responded to that.liamconnor wrote: [Replying to post 5 by Justin108]

You might also notice that the OP was generated by a quote from JP who has in his signature:dio9 wrote: Christian theology says ...
Another thing to note is the capital G in God used in the OP. McCulloch is of course free to correct us all, but all evidence so far points to discussing the Christian god.A very unorthodox Theist & unorthodox Christian

I think responses should be as specific as possible; I invite criticisms of my own.
I think it is irrelevant what one's Signature states. I am a Christian, I have not infrequently made cases and opened OP's that did not necessarily support the biblical god.
To conclude that a capital 'God'' is the Christian god is of course insensitive to Muslims.

Post #10dio, the person this comment was directed at, mentioned the Christian theology in his response. See below.liamconnor wrote: [Replying to post 5 by Justin108]
