Didn't you hear "The Bad News"?
God is out to condemn you to everlasting punishment.
The "Good News" is that his Son can supposedly save you from his irate Dad.
There's no point in placing your faith in the "Good News" if you haven't already placed your faith in the "Bad News".

Biblically the "good news" is the information regarding God's purpose to bring and end to human suffering, vindicate his name and establish universal and eternal peace.

So I add that the correct Bible text to answer the question is this:
Matthew 24:
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
The word "Gospel" means "Good News" and the News is that there is a coming Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven.

The good news? People are sinners but can be saved from their addiction to sin and the legal consequences of that sin by faith, an unproven hope, in Christ as their Saviour.
PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

The Unproven Bad News:
Every human is addicted to sin and deserves to die, or be cast into a horrific state of eternal punishment as Christ has claimed.
Note: This Unproven Bad News must be believed on pure faith.
The Unproven Good News:
Supposedly if a human is willing to condone having an innocent demigod brutally beaten and crucified in their place they can be pardoned from their deserved everlasting punishment.
Note: This Unproven Good News must be believed on pure faith.
~~~~~
Finally take special note that the Unproven Good News doesn't make any sense at all unless a person first places their FAITH in the truth of the Unproven Bad News.
You absolutely must place your FAITH in the unproven bad news first. Otherwise the unproven good news is meaningless.
Well, like I say, before a person can believe in this "Good News" they must first believe in the "Bad News" that they are in dire need of being saved.EBA wrote: Here is the "Good News"
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. (1 John 4:14)
Though there are very few that believe it.
Peace.
So before the "Son" makes any sense we need to believe in a monster "Father" who is out to damn us. Without that threat of damnation the so-called "Good News" isn't good news at all.
You have to believe in a damning Father before it makes any sense to believe in a saving Son.
Re: What is "The Good News?"
Post #9Excellent scripture. We (Jehovah's Witnesses) are indeed preaching the good news of the Kingdom worldwide, its not easy but it is a great privilege to be used by God to fulfill inspired scripture. As Jesus indicated elsewhere, his disciples (us) are not to always expect a favorable reception, but the work must be done, and when it is to God's satisfaction "the end" will come.JP Cusick wrote:
This reminds me of a joke the late Larry Norman used to tell during some of his concerts. It went something like this:
Evangelist: Have you been washed in the blood?
Larry: I don't think so.
Evangelist: Have you been born again?
Larry: Not lately.
Evangelist: Have you been saved?
Larry: Sure. Last summer... at camp. It was a beautiful moonlit night and we were in a boat out on the lake. I don't know how to swim and the boat turned over. My counselor grabbed me...
Evangelist: That's not what I'm talking about!!! I'm asking if you have been sanctified! Have you been consecrated! Have you... I'm trying to tell you the Good News!
Larry: The Good News! What's that?
Evangelist: You're going to hell!
Larry: What's the bad news?
