Who is to blame for not putting people back to work !!

McConnell blocks bill to reopen most of government

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blocked legislation on Thursday that would have reopened most of the federal government impacted by the partial shutdown.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) tried to get consent to take up a House-passed bill that would reopen all agencies except the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is at the center of the shutdown fight. But McConnell objected.

Mitch McConnell Jr. (born February 20, 1942) is an American politician serving as Kentucky’s senior United States Senator and as Senate Majority Leader. McConnell is the second Kentuckian to lead his party in the Senate and is the longest-serving U.S. Senator from Kentucky in history.
A member of the Republican Party, McConnell was elected to the Senate in 1984 and has been re-elected five times since then.

If you are a citizen living in Kentucky, I employ you to gather whomever you can gather together and visit McConnell, at his home and plead to him (peacefully) to re-open our government NOW!!!!!!

I totally agree, along with a caveat.

Donald Trump is solely to blame for the shutdown in the first place, and no one else.

There never needed to be a shutdown to begin with. Trump is using the shutdown as a "negotiating" weapon to try to force his agenda on a nation that just voted against his agenda.

That should have never happened to begin with and violates Trump's oath of office to serve the people of this country.

But yeah, since it appears that there is nothing that can be done to force Trump to honor the office of president in a democracy and the oath he took to serve the people, then congress must act to counter this violation of the office of the presidency.

Mitch McConnell has a responsibility to put bills on the floor of the senate that can stop this illegal shutdown by Trump. That's his job! And he's flat-out refusing to do it and instead supporting the unconstitutional behavior of a president who refuses to serve the citizens of the democracy he is supposed to represent.

So Mitch McConnell is in violation of his oath of office as well. If he would put these bills on the floor for a vote, they would pass, and then Trump would need to veto them if he wants to continue to violate his oath of office and duty to serve the American people.

Mitch McConnell is refusing to do his job. He has become a mindless puppet of Trump. He should be kicked out of the Senate to be quite honest about it. He's refusing to do his job.

Can't Mitch be impeached as well?

I don't know what the laws are. I just know that he's not doing his job.

Congress should vote. If Congress backs up what the president wants then so be it. But if Congress won't pass what the president wants then that's the whole purpose of Congress.

Mitch has put Congress on HOLD. He won't allow congress to vote.

There should be some legal means to force Mitch to either do his job or resign.

Holding the American people hostage with a government shutdown should be illegal as well. And that's precisely what Trump is doing. It's a disgrace to our democracy.

The democratic house was voted in by the American People specifically to stand up against this president. And now the president is holding the American People hostage in defiance of their will.

He's not serving the American people, he's flat-out refusing to do as they want.

He has turned our democracy into an autocracy and appears to be getting away with this.

It seems to me that there should be laws in place that restrict a president from holding the American People hostage by shutting down the government in an effort to thwart democracy.

That's a clear violation of democracy itself.
