MosesY; an introduction
Post #1I was born Amish. My parents left the Amish and joined a Beachy Amish church when I was 2 years old. My dad was a real piece of work but at age 45 he became converted. In the past year I was able to fully forgive him for what he did to me as a child. This has brought peace to my life, I am no longer as angry as I used to be. I married at age 22 and divorced about 4 years ago. I am not currently going to any church. I am bipolar NOS with social anxiety brought on by a porn addiction. I am 67 days porn free and 64 days sober. One of the reasons I signed on here is because I have a lot of time on my hands now that I am not getting drunk and looking at porn every night. I am a self educated theologian with a specific interest in eschatology.

I am no longer a believe in these religions. None the less, I have no problem with the concept of a judgement day as I can't imagine any benevolent God judging me harshly. Although, I must confess that I never had an obsession with porn, drugs or alcohol. In short, I would be very hard-pressed to come up with a rational reason for any benevolent God to condemn me. Therefore eschatology would be the least of my concern in any case.
Best wishes in your search for answers on that subject. I'm sure you'll get a lot of different opinions from theists. The idea of how people might be judged is something that theists have not been able to come to a consensus on themselves. There are a myriad of different views and opinions on that subject. So you'll have plenty of opinions to exam on that one for sure.
Strange that I actually had to look that term up. You would think that would be the focus of just about everyone who believes in a judgmental God who will judge them on some imagined judgment day.MosesY wrote: I am a self educated theologian with a specific interest in eschatology.

Post #4By the way, for me, Luke 6:37 answers all my questions concerning eschatology in Christian theology:
Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.
If we can take this verse as being the truth then this answers all my questions.
And if we can't take this verse as being truthful, then that brings into question the truthfulness of the entire dogma, right?
So Luke 6:37 answers all my questions on eschatology. And ironically Luke 6:37 tells me that I won't even be judged. Period. So according to Luke 6:37 there will be no judgement for me on "Judgement Day" as I will pass directly to heaven automatically according to Jesus.
