Matthew tells us that Jesus was born during the life of King Herod the Great who died in 4 BC.
Luke tells us that Jesus was born during the 6 AD Census of Judea.
If both passages are true, Mary must have had two sons named Jesus born at least 10 years apart!
How many sons named Jesus did Mary have?

You know, I never thought to draw that conclusion, but that does suddenly make sense of all of the "it happened twice" apologetics. Jesus 1 cleansed the temple at the beginning of His ministry, Jesus 2 at the end. Jesus 1 gave the sermon on the mount, Jesus 2 gave the sermon on the plain. Jesus 1 visited Peter's mother-in-law before the demoniac, Jesus 2 after. Jesus 1 was crucified before the Passover, Jesus 2 after.
But having the same mother and family still doesn't help with Jesus's hometowns being variously Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Capernaum. Maybe even the Marys and Josephs were different. And maybe each Jesus had a different friend named Judas, so one could hang himself while a totally different Judas fatally fell.
