Christians: Is the God of Israel your God?

How would you describe him to those who have never heard of him? (What is your opinion of him?)

What verse/s that God has spoken that are special to you and why?

Thanks

My apologies for what has become a misunderstanding. I thought that Avoice had called me a liar, but I can't find where I thought he said it. That is the only reason I was so blatant in my own assessment of what he said he was satisfied with as to what God's name was or was represented as.

I went back and saw where Avoice said that "to say [God's name] wrong would be a lie." I think this is what I was reacting to. I then said that wouldn't "Hashem" or "the LORD" be lies also?

Yes.

Ironically, Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe in the same God.

Muslims do not worship a separate god called Allah. Allah is simply the Arabic word for God.

Christians differ from Jews and Muslims in that they believe Jesus to be the Son of God, and the only path to salvation.

Yes.

He is the one true God, YVHV, the One whom Jesus called Father.

I dont think anyone here is saying Gods name is HASHEM they are saying, if I'm not mistken that , they dont call God by ANY name for various reasons. If someone were to ask them can you say Gods name they would have to refuse and explain they simply use a replacement word. If someone were to ask them if Gods name has been LOST, my understanding is some would point to God's name in the Hebrew bible and say "Yes the name is completely lost, nobody knows what it is.!! There it is...you can see it there clearly being lost in the bible at Psalms 83:18"

They use a replacement word/name (and from what I can see avoid using the Divine name unless strictly necessary) we use a "replacement" (rather an alternative) pronunciation and respectfully use the name whenever we can because we love Him.
The claim is its better to replace the name that replace the pronunciation, which for me is like saying its better to call your wife "woman" than than call her Mary when the Hebrew is Myriam.

Still to each his own

He is my God.

That is, the One who called Himself YHVH, whom Jesus called his Father and his god, the only true God.
How would you describe him to those who have never heard of him? (What is your opinion of him?)
This only true God created and sustains all that is, and without Him nothing would exist.

He is eternal, He is love, He is holy, He is light, He is a consuming fire, He is Spirit.

He created mankind in His image and likeness, able to freely choose or not choose their future and hope He would offer them, time and again.

He is not far away and wants to come close to anyone who wants to know and be at peace with Him, regardless of who they are or what they have done.

Those who respond will find Him to be a joy, and a true friend, a ready listener and a sure help in times of need, and a keeper of His many promises.

What verse/s that God has spoken that are special to you and why?
These four verses/passages tell me so much.
Isaiah 55:

6 Seek YHVH while he may be found;

call on him while he is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake their ways

and the unrighteous their thoughts.

Let them turn to YVH, and he will have mercy on them,

and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

"
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,

declares YHVH.

9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:

10"As the rain and the snow

come down from heaven,

and do not return to it

without watering the earth

and making it bud and flourish,

so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire

and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Micah 6:

8 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.

And what does YHVH require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy

and to walk humbly a with your God.
Malachi:

16 Then those who feared YHVH talked with each other, and He listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared YHVH and honored his name.

17 “On the day when I act, says YHVH Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him.
18 And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not."

Actually God's name is "Yod He Waw He," the Tetragrammaton, translated as "Jehovah" in the King James Version 4 times (out of 7,000), one place being Psalm 83:18.
Actually that is an abbreviation or acronym. My point is, as God foretold, we forgot His name. Why is that hard to hear? I understand I don't know the correct personal name of my God, as He predicted. He still knows to whom I pray.

That verse actually reads:
[Berean Study Bible]

I declare the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come, saying: ’My purpose will stand, and all My good pleasure I will accomplish.’
Why did you post a verse?

Guess you could try again!

Grace and peace to you.
