JWs' Interpretation of 1 Corinthians 15:51–52

Post by Skeptical »

This question is primarily for JWs, however, anyone may participate in this discussion. But what I would like to ask is: What is JWs' interpretation of 1 Corinthians 15:51–52?
50 But I tell you this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s Kingdom, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Look! I tell you a sacred secret: We will not all fall asleep in death, but we will all be changed,i 52 in a moment, in the blink of an eye, during* the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,j and the dead will be raised up incorruptible, and we will be changed.

Does Paul's commentary at 1 Cor 15: 51-52; 1 Thess 4:16-17 indicate he believed that first century Christians would not die before christ's return?

I replied to your comment about that in the other thread that JWs' POV was eisegesis, but in this thread, I am asking a different question. I am asking JWs to breakdown what all their beliefs are related to those verses.

I already did. If you have any questions not already addressed feel free to ask specifically.

So, is or has 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 been applied already according to JWs? And if so, how? What are the details of JW interpretation?

I think I fully explained the details of the Jehovah’s Witnesses interpretation. . If however there is a detail you think I have neglected, please point it out, I'll, be happy to enlarge on my explanation.

So, are these or have these verses occurred or are occurring with the JW organization presently in 2023? Have some of your people floated up to heaven already?

Jehovahs Witnesses are no different from most mainstream religions in our belief that all spirit anointed Christians go to heaven when they die. The final calling however of those alive when Jesus returns has not happened as we believe that event (the return of Christ) is a future event.

I see. So, how many JWs who have passed away already have gotten instantaneously converted into heavenly spirit beings in the twinkling of an eye?
