Jesus is God - seven eyes

Post by Wootah »

Zechariah 4:8 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.

10 “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone[a] in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
Revelation 5:6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out into all the earth.
In Zechariah: YHWH has seven eyes that range throughout the earth.

In Revelation: Jesus has seven eyes that are the Spirits that go out to the earth.

Clearly, Jesus and YHWH are the same person.

Does the obvious evidence of these two scriptures prove Jesus is YHWH?
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

I don't think so, because Jesus can have things that are God's. For example:

And no longer I am in the world, yet these are in the world; and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, those whom You gave to Me, that they may be one as We are .

Jesus (the man) had two eyes and so do donkeys... so does that mean Jesus was a donkey?

Why do you say that because both have "seven eyes" they must be the same person? That doesn't show that they are the same. It surely means that they are very much in agreement and that the Son reflects the Father in many ways...to the point that Jesus said that if you see him you see the Father. "Like Father, like Son." Jesus copied his Father, he did what the Father showed him how to do. (John 5:19) Because Jesus was the reflection of God, he could be said to have God's attributes.

"Jesus answered and was saying to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of himself, unless it is something he sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.'" (John 5:19, NASB)

How could Jesus say that if he was the Father?

Well that made me laugh at least. Demonstrate why it is a fallacy before writing it off.

Let's see how many false equivalences we can find in the Bible.
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

A good point was made. Will you directly comment on the previous two posts? A fallacy has already been demonstrated. Now the ball is in your court.

When using a fallacy you have to explain why.

If it is false equivalence then why is it?

The author of the Bible has made a very deliberate and obvious connection.

Add it to the others and the case grows and grows.

Yes perfect agreement.

Can any being in perfect agreement with God? No. That would make them God. Oh .... so Jesus is God? Yes. Welcome to Christianity.

No one is claiming Jesus is the Father.

I think the best rebuttal to the fallacy claim is to point out all the equivalences made in the Bible and then let JWs call them all equivalence fallacies.

I don't know what the fuss is all about really.

If two Christians practiced Love/Forgiveness can they been seen to be "of one Spirit" while also be seen to be two distinct personalities?

I think so.

So why is it so hard to comprehend that Jesus can be seen as "of the same spirit" as God while at the same time see them as two distinct personalities?
