Jesus is God - Colossians 1:15-16

Post by Wootah »

The Son is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation.
16 For by him all things in heaven and on earth were created,
things visible and invisible,
whether they are kings, lords, rulers, or powers.
All things have been created through him and for him.
17 He himself existed before anything else did,
and he holds all things together.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?s ... ersion=ISV
If all things have been created through Jesus then Jesus cannot have been created.

If Jesus is not created he must be God.

Is this proof Jesus is God?

OK I'll ask you.

Who created the heavens?
NEHEMIAH 9: 6 - American Standard Version

Thou art Jehovah, even thou alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things that are thereon, the seas and all that is in them, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee
GENESIS 2:4

This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time they were created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.

Is there a reason you keep repeating the same question: I have answered this question several times.

You are on a hook and avoiding the obvious answer of 1 + 1= 2.

Why won't you say God like the question implies?

Why won't you just accept scripture as my answer implies.

JEHOVAH GOD , THE FATHER IS THE CREATOR OF ALL THAT EXISTS

GENESIS 2:4

This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time they were created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.

REVELATION 4:11

“You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.”

OK assuming you are serious.

So now your defense is to explain away scripture. Jesus is God and Creator. Col 1; Jn 1

Jesus is God because in the Last Day His Voice will summons all from their graves for Judgment Jon 5:25-29

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

I can't believe YOU are serious. "Who is God?" you ask.

"That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth." (Psalm 83:18, KJV)

Jesus, in prayer to Jehovah: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ , whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3, KJV)

Jehovah's name as the Tetragrammaton YHWH, appears in the Old Testament 7,000 times. Could there be any doubt as to who the true God is?

Who is God?
I presume you are asking about Almighty God the Creator ; if so the answer to your question is JEHOVAH / YHWH.

Neither scripture you refer to actually say what you claim

Nowhere in the Letter to the Colossians can we read the words "Jesus is God" and no scripture refers to Jesus as "The Creator". Jesus is never refered to as "Almighty God" or "The Most High" , neither in the gospel of John nor in any other scripture in the bible.

Feel free to try and prove me wrong.
