THE FUTURE

Post by onewithhim »

Haven't we all, at one time or another, wondered what the future will be like? Experts of men have had a spotty reputation as most of their predictions have proved untrue.

What does the Bible tell us? "The God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed....It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever." (Daniel 2:44, Revised Standard Version)

Is this good news? Of course, when we realize what God's Kingdom is. It is a real government that will replace all of the existing governments on the earth and stand forever. Stability and order will be brought to people on the earth. What will life be like under this government?

NO MORE WAR (Psalm 46:9)
NO MORE SICKNESS (Isaiah 33:24)
NO MORE FOOD SHORTAGE (Psalm 72:16)
NO MORE PAIN, SORROW AND DEATH (Revelation 21:4)

These are just some of the promises made in the Bible about God's Kingdom, and there are more. God has promised all these wonderful things for the future. All righteously inclined people can avail themselves of these promises. Does this sound good to you?

Sounds good. But why did you limit it to only "righteously inclined people?"

The reason I ask is because the Bible limits the availability of these promises to whosoever believeth in God's only begotten Son:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

You seem to be at odds with the Bible.

NO MORE WAR (Psalm 46:9)

Does this sound good to you?
Absolutely.

I was listening to an online commentator (an American) and she said expressed how sick and tured she was if war. Her country has been at war in one form or another her whole life, and she is heartbroken.

I am so glad that the kingdom is here, soon to brong all wars to an end...I cannot bear the images of useless war after useless war across my t.v screen with the unimaginable suffering it causes.

Vivre le Royaume!!

Not at all. You have no grounds to say that. Throughout the Bible God speaks of the righteous and how they will be saved.

"Evil doers are cut off, As to those waiting on Jehovah, they possess the land. And yet a little, and the wicked is not, and thou hast considered his place, and it is not. The humble do possess the land, and they have delighted themselves in the abundance of peace. The wicked is devising against the righteous, and gnashing against him his teeth....The righteous possess the land, and they dwell forever on it." (Psalm 37:9-12 and 29, Young's Literal Translation)

Romans 3:10

That is why I said "righteously inclined." There are people who want to do good and follow in Christ's footsteps and obey God's commands. Even though they still carry Adamic sin in their DNA, they still want to do what's right. So when the Bible says some are "righteous," that means that they are doing their best to do what Jesus taught and recognize YHWH as the Supreme God. And of course, the "righteous" men of old, in the Hebrew Scriptures, didn't know about Jesus but had knowledge of the one who was to come to eliminate Satan (Genesis 3:15) and accepted that.

Being righteous or righteously inclined saves no one under the New Testament Covenant!

The righteous, the righteously inclined, the mass murderers, the men of old, Adam and Eve, all who lived before Jesus died, and whosoever else you might group together, must believe in Jesus as their Savior to gain everlasting life:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

That's the only path to salvation!

Have a great day.

Of course. That is what I've always said, and other JWs believe the same thing. Is it that you just want to argue?

Actually, here is what Onewithhim wrote:All righteously inclined people can avail themselves of these promises.
Whosoever can "avail" themselves of these promises.

What's so special about those that are "righteously inclined?"

I explained that in my post #6.
