THE FUTURE

Post by onewithhim »

Haven't we all, at one time or another, wondered what the future will be like? Experts of men have had a spotty reputation as most of their predictions have proved untrue.

What does the Bible tell us? "The God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed....It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever." (Daniel 2:44, Revised Standard Version)

Is this good news? Of course, when we realize what God's Kingdom is. It is a real government that will replace all of the existing governments on the earth and stand forever. Stability and order will be brought to people on the earth. What will life be like under this government?

NO MORE WAR (Psalm 46:9)
NO MORE SICKNESS (Isaiah 33:24)
NO MORE FOOD SHORTAGE (Psalm 72:16)
NO MORE PAIN, SORROW AND DEATH (Revelation 21:4)

These are just some of the promises made in the Bible about God's Kingdom, and there are more. God has promised all these wonderful things for the future. All righteously inclined people can avail themselves of these promises. Does this sound good to you?

Flesh and blood cannot go to heaven where the seat of the Kingdom government is. But humans can be the people on earth that the Kingdom government reigns over. They can enjoy their physical bodies in a paradise. In that sense they are part of the Kingdom.
Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God:

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;... (I Corinthians 15:49-50)

Humans are flesh and blood.

Therefore, no human can inherit the Kingdom of God.

Speaking of those who shall inherit the Kingdom of God in the world to come, Jesus states:

Neither can they die any more, for they are equal unto the angels... (Luke 20:36)

That which is born of the flesh is flesh.

Humans are born of the flesh.

That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Angels are born of the Spirit.

Humans are physical fleshy beings born of the flesh which will die.

Angels are spiritual beings born of the Spirit which live forever.

The only way for any man or woman to gain everlasting life is to be born a second time (or born again), of the Spirit, as a spirit!

Do you see how that works?

Yes, humans are flesh and blood and most of them will remain on this beautiful earth, forever. You can't see that there are two different groups of Christians, 144,000 to go to heaven and a great crowd that no man can number to live on the earth in "fresher than in youth" physical bodies.

"Let his flesh become fresher than in youth; let him return to the days of his youthful vigor." (Job 33:25)

No human lives forever!

And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. (Genesis 6:3)

Another scripture that you don't understand. 120 years was the time period that Noah had to build the ark and then the people who didn't listen to him would be gone. After 120 years.

It's also the upper limit for a human life span.

Sometime around 1975-1980, a group of scientists concluded that human beings could live to a maximum of about one hundred and twenty years of age. It was discovered that shortly before reaching one hundred and twenty the process that causes body cells to reproduce fails. The cells then die as well as the person.

They believe it is caused by what they call telomeres. This they believe is the key to the human life cycle. Telomeres are repeating DNA strings (TTAGGG) that cap chromosomes. Each time a cell divides its telomeres become shorter. When they reach a preset length, the cell ceases to divide, ages, and dies. Independently, others came up with exactly the same number as the maximum age for mortal mankind three thousand years ago:

And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. (Genesis 6:3)

That may be the human life span since the Flood, but it will not always be that way. Jehovah will see to it that humans will live forever, after Armageddon and the institution of Paradise on Earth.

God designed mankind to die!

Is God's creation of mankind not "very good" for its purpose?

Or do you not know the purpose of mankind?

<==============================>

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

The former things which will pass away are the characteristics of a physical body!

Human believers in Jesus will be born again as spirits with spiritual characteristics.

After that, they are no longer humans. They are spirits in the Kingdom of God.

No He did not! The only reason Adam died was because he turned his back on God and wanted to do his own thing. If he had obeyed he would still be here! And as long as he obeyed he would live, forever.

Adam could not have died if God had created him as a spiritual bodied being.

He was made lower that the angels so that he could die if he sinned.

Oh yes Adam could have died even as a spirit. You insist that spirits can't die, but that isn't the truth. When Paul wrote to Timothy he said of Jesus that he was the ONLY one who had immortality. It is very obvious that the demons could indeed die because they were not immortal. (I Timothy 6:16) And since they can die, the consigning of them to the lake of fire is symbolic of eternal DEATH.
