Haven't we all, at one time or another, wondered what the future will be like? Experts of men have had a spotty reputation as most of their predictions have proved untrue.
What does the Bible tell us? "The God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed....It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever." (Daniel 2:44, Revised Standard Version)
Is this good news? Of course, when we realize what God's Kingdom is. It is a real government that will replace all of the existing governments on the earth and stand forever. Stability and order will be brought to people on the earth. What will life be like under this government?
NO MORE WAR (Psalm 46:9)
NO MORE SICKNESS (Isaiah 33:24)
NO MORE FOOD SHORTAGE (Psalm 72:16)
NO MORE PAIN, SORROW AND DEATH (Revelation 21:4)
These are just some of the promises made in the Bible about God's Kingdom, and there are more. God has promised all these wonderful things for the future. All righteously inclined people can avail themselves of these promises. Does this sound good to you?

Also, "morning" means merely a beginning of the creative period, and "evening" means the end of the creative period. Why would you think that those terms would mean that a day is 24 hours in length?
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
One revolution of the earth on its axis produces a day and a night.
At the present time, one revolution of the earth on its axis requires 24 hours.
I'll have to side with God on this one.

Re: THE FUTURE
Post #72Actually, God is reminding you of Genesis 2:4 which you have not explained. How can that "day" be 24 hours? It shows that a "day" means an undetermined length of time.myth-one.com wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 5:05 pmGenesis 1:onewithhim wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 10:16 am

Again, you say that a day is 24 hours, depending on the earth's turn on its axis, but God is trying to tell you that a "day" does not necessarily mean a 24 hour period. "Morning" and "evening" simply mean a beginning and an end.
"Let this one fact not be escaping your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day." (2Peter 3:8)

Our future is bright for humans here on Earth, where God will get rid of death, sorrow, and pain. Bad things will be gone, and good will prevail.

Your claim that "All righteously inclined people can avail themselves of these promises" is misleading.
Definition of people: human beings in general or considered collectively.
People do war, get sick, hunger, have pain, sorrow and death. People cannot avail themselves as they exist now of your list of promises. In fact, people need hunger, pain, and sorrow to survive.
People must be born again of the Spirit (God) as spirits to avail themselves of these promises!
Spiritual bodied beings live eternally and do not experience sickness, hunger, pain, sorrow, or other characteristics of the physical body.

Re: THE FUTURE
Post #79NO. Only those relatively few persons who go to heaven have to be born again. They have inherited the governmental aspect of the Kingdom, which is in heaven. Their subjects are the billions of people living on the earth in physical bodies forever. That is part of the Kingdom, but not the government's seat, which is in heaven. People will have bodies of flesh as Job remarked at Job 33:25: "Let his flesh become fresher than in youth, Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor." This will be the state of things after the Resurrection. This describes the people living on Earth. And "The righteous will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." (Psalm 37:29) Showing that not everyone will be born again to go to heaven.myth-one.com wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 7:42 pmBut there are no human people in God's Kingdom:onewithhim wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 1:33 pmThat is exactly right, and the core of what I've been saying is that only God's Kingdom can set matters aright, in the near future. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;... (I Corinthians 15:49-50)
Since the subjects living on the earth are members of the kingdom of God as you correctly claim, they are not flesh and blood physical bodies according to God's inspired scriptures:
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;... (I Corinthians 15:49-50)
Since there are only two type of bodies, natural and spiritual, and only spiritual bodies can inherit the Kingdom of God, and the subjects living forever on the earth are in the Kingdom of God, then those who inherit everlasting life and living on the earth must have immortal spiritual bodies!
Gpd says spiritual bodies, Onewithhim says physical.
I'll agree with God.
Why on earth would you desire a physical body over a spiritual body??
