Will all those who died before Armeggedon be raised to life?

Post by 2timothy316 »

There are those that think that everyone will be raised to life after Armageddon. This would include such people as Hitler and Judas Iscariot.

For debate, will everyone be resurrected after the end of this system of things or will there be some that will not? What do the scriptures say? If all people will be resurrected, is there no accountability for our actions now? Just as long as we kill ourselves before God judges us?

BUT DID NOT PAUL STATE THAT 100 % OF MANKIND WOULD LIVE FOREVER?
1 CORINTHIANS 15: 22

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive
Absolutely not!
Paul was not restricting himself to those who would live forever!

Paul meant every human who ever died their "first death" would be made alive again.

All deceased believers will be resurrected to everlasting spiritual life at the Second Coming, and all deceased nonbelievers will be resurrected a thousand years after the Second Coming as humans and face judgment.

Deceased believers plus deceased nonbelievers equals all of deceased mankind.

Thus ALL will be made alive again.

The nonbelievers made alive again as humans may or may not gain everlasting life.

Good guess, myth. But you are not thinking in harmony with the Scriptures. You miss the fact that "all" in Christ will be made alive. There are those who are not in Christ and are wicked that will not be made alive.

The scriptures state that every human who ever lived and died shall be resurrected. Do I have to go through the entire proof again for you?

That is a good point.

But 1Corinthians is not a verse I would have thought meant everyone receives a resurrection to begin with. Being 'made alive' seems (to me) to be speaking about more than just receiving a resurrection.

**

That being said, the verse that shows everyone receives a resurrection are from Christ's own words, which everyone on this thread appears to be ignoring or dismissing:

Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice 29and come out— those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. John 5:28, 29

He says it plain as day. ALL who are in their graves.

Not all receive the resurrection of life. Some receive the resurrection of judgment.

But ALL who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out.

Paul states the same thing as Christ (the same thing that is written in Daniel about the multitudes that sleep in the dust of the earth):

I believe everything that is laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets, 15and I have the same hope in God that they themselves cherish, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. Acts 24:14-15

DOES THE BIBLE TEACH THAT EVERY HUMANS WHO HAS EVER DIED WOULD BE RESURRECTED?

Absolutely not! The bible is clear ....

1. Those the incorrigibly wicked who die would have no hope of future life
PSALMS 37:38 ISV

Sinners will be destroyed together; the future of the wicked will be cut off.

2. Anyone who dies having sinned against the holy spirit cannot have that sin pardonned, thus such people will have no prospect of and future life.

MATTHEW 12:31, 32

“For this reason I say to you, every sort of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven. For example, whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the holy spirit, it will not be forgiven him, no, not in this system of things nor in that to come
3. Jesus explicitly stated that some would be cast into GEHENNA.
MATTHEW 10:28

And do not become fearful of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, fear him who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenʹna.

BUT DID NOT PAUL STATE THAT 100 % OF MANKIND WOULD BE RESURRECTED BACK TO LIFE ?
1 CORINTHIANS 15: 22

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive
Absolutely not! He made no mention of a percentage and when he said "all" he clearly stated it was "all" in the same manner * as all mankind dies because of Adam.

[ * ] The word Paul used in Greek wsper means "just as", i.e. exactly like." See STRONGS #5618

Adam introduced sin and DEATH to "all" mankind but some humans nevertheless will live forever. In the same manner (Greek wsper) , Christ introduced everlasting life to "all" mankind but some humans will nevertheless will NOT live forever. In short, Adamic death is for all the humans that reject the ransom and everlasting life is for all those that accept it (compare John 3:16)

CONCLUSION Jesus said only those in the "memorial tombs" would be resurrected but he spoke of some as being in GEHENNA where both their bodies and souls (ie hope of future life as a living soul) would perish. In short some people are disqualified from any hope of future life after their death .

ALL who are in their graves.

Incorrigibly is your word.

Christ said all who are in their graves will be resurrected (some to life and some to judgment). Paul said both the righteous and the wicked will be resurrected. In Daniel it is written that some will rise to life and some will rise to shame and everlasting contempt. So yes, the wicked will be cut off (as is stated in the Psalm), though God may have mercy upon whomever He chooses.

But that has not happened yet.

Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice 29and come out— those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

See above.

MATTHEW 10:28

Yes, but this does not happen until AFTER the resurrection of the dead (where some are resurrected to life - as Christ said - and some are resurrected to judgment.) This is also stated in Revelation:

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

BUT DID NOT PAUL STATE THAT 100 % OF MANKIND WOULD BE RESURRECTED BACK TO LIFE ?
I agree that Paul did not state that 100% of mankind would be resurrected to LIFE (as in, eternal life).

(Myth-one is not making that claim either. Myth-one is claiming only that everyone receives a resurrection (and then judgment). I do not know that he is using the correct verse for that, but the end result is the same because Christ Himself said that ALL who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out. Including those who have done evil; just as Paul said that there would be a resurrection of the wicked; just as in Daniel it is written that some will rise to shame and everlasting contempt.)

CONCLUSION Jesus said only those in the "memorial tombs" would be resurrected but he spoke of some as being in GEHENNA where both their bodies and souls (ie hope of future life as a living soul) would perish.

Christ did not speak of some as ALREADY being in gehenna. He said to fear the one who COULD destroy both body and soul in Gehenna. Those are two different statements. The only time people are mentioned as being utterly destroyed is when being cast into the lake of fire (gehenna) AFTER the resurrection of the dead, where some are resurrected to judgment and the second death (lake of fire). This has not yet occurred.

Well written Tam.

Names of believers are written in the Book of Life. All deceased believers will be resurrected to everlasting spiritual life at the Second Coming. At that same moment, believers who are alive on the earth will be born again of the Spirit as spirits and meet them in the air. All will then spend the 1000-year Millennium with Jesus.

Then, all deceased nonbelievers will be resurrected as humans after the 1,000 years in the second resurrection.

Resurrected nonbelievers along with those nonbelievers living on the earth at the time of the second resurrection will then face judgment. Following their judgment, those whose names are written in the Book of Life gain everlasting life. Those whose names are not written in the Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire and suffer their second and everlasting second death.

Remember that the Book of Life was cleared of names following the first resurrection. That is, all deceased and living Christians were granted everlasting life at the Second Coming.

Checking the Book of Life again after judgment of nonbelievers implies that those being judged have an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior and have their names written in the Book of Life during their judgment! This is when large numbers of people will have an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior.

That is why the Book of Life is checked again after the judgment.

Judgment Day is the Millennial Reign of Christ. People will be given the opportunity to learn about things they never knew before and to decide whether or not they will worship Jehovah as God Almighty and accept Jesus' sacrifice. People will not be spirit beings on the earth. They will be able to enjoy life forever in the physical bodies they were born with, right here on the physical Earth. They will truly "come to life" after the Millennial Reign because that is when they will be granted the ability to live forever---life everlasting. They "come to life."

The bit about living on the Earth as spirit beings is nonsense. The Bible shows us a very physical life for the people that live forever on Earth. What about Isaiah 11:6-9? Are animals also going to be spirits? How and why would animals also be spirit beings? I think that Isaiah is speaking about a very physical world where a child will "lead" an animal. There is no reason for people to be spirits here on Earth. God created them as physical beings and Jesus gave his physical life up so we could have ours here on Earth.

After Christ's 1,000 year reign, there will be a final judgment of all the folks that had been taught the truth and who must then choose Jehovah or Satan. Everyone will be given the chance to answer. (Revelation 20:7-9) I hope people will look up these Scriptures and not just breeze over them. :D Thank you for reading my post.

No, the Millennium is a period of rest following six 1,000 year periods of work:

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (Hebrews 4:9)

The majority of nonbelievers which will be judged remain in their graves until after the Millennium:

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. (Revelation 20:5)

They can't be judged while in their graves.

Born again Christians will spend the Millennial period of rest with Jesus, then the second resurrection of nonbelievers will occur, and Judgment of nonbelievers begins then.

Those who are resurrected back to life on Earth during the Millennium will not be still "in their graves." And the Millennial period will not be "rest" for Christians in the usual sense of the word (doing nothing). People will be teaching resurrected ones, cleaning up the earth, building homes, taking care of the animals, and so on.

And you didn't answer what I asked about the animals referred to at Isaiah 11:6-9. Are they "spirit" as you say that people will be? And does a little spirit boy lead them?
