Preterist view of Matthew 24

The preterist view argues that most of Matthew 24 was fulfilled in 70 AD. If this is true, then verses 14 and 15 had to be fulfilled. Let’s test these assumptions against history and the gospel. Verse 14, Jesus said, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations."

Question: By 70 AD., when Rome destroyed Jerusalem, and the Temple was the gospel of the kingdom preached in “All the world, for a witness unto all nations?” The answer is a resounding NO!

Why not? By 70 AD, North and South America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Japan, China, Russia, Australia, Britain, Germany, Spain, and Arabia had not heard the gospel.
Okay, Preterist, what’s your argument?

Verse 15-16, "When you (the Jews) therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place --- Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains."

Preterists say the abominations were the Roman soldiers, or their standards, or Titus' armies, or the destruction of the Temple itself. Here's the problem: the Romans never placed an idol or abomination inside the holy place before the Jews fled. The Temple was destroyed after the city was surrounded and after most of the people were already trapped. No Roman standard was ever set up; they were brought in after the Temple was burned. And the Jews did not flee when they saw the Roman Legions because they were trapped inside the city for months. So historically, there is no event in 70 AD that matches Jesus' description; therefore, the prophecy is still future.

I think it would be important to notice, Jesus answers to two questions in Matthew 24:

Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, "Don't you see all of these things? Most assuredly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on an-other, that will not be thrown down." As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, [1]"Tell us, when will these things be? [2] What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?"

The first question is about the destruction of the temple, which happened as I think Jesus said.

The second is about the signs of when Jesus is coming back. It will be like the days before the great flood and it will come surprisingly for many. But, Jesus didn't know the exact time when it will happen.

But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only. "As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and they didn't know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
