Lying and religion.

Post by Darren »

All people lie, and you know this because you have lied yourself. Sometimes knowingly, and sometimes not. Some are the 'white lies' and some are compassionate lies, but lies they are.
With this in mind, how can any of the faiths passed down through people be considered 'true'?

It's just got to be true. It makes us feel fulfilled. It has to be true, because if it is not true, there would be no purpose to life.

None of that seems to me to be reason for a god.
By the way, you can give your own life purpose :)
I keep in mind that there is nothing to suggest a god except for the stories of some people.

You convinced me. I'll be an atheist now. ;)

Actually, I used to be a Christian, but I gave it up quite a few years ago.

Did you pick that Avatar or was it given to you?
You have only had 4 posts and I wonder what you could have said in 4 posts that could get you on probation?
I expect goofy stuff like that from Lotan(I think that is who is using it on purpose).
I enjoy his odd sense of humor.
People can pass on lies with out knowing it.
Is Huck Finn a lie or a story?

Correction!
It might be Vald that is wearing the shackles.
I like his humor too.

I picked it. I wanted a reminder to curb my (sometimes) offensive sense of humour.

Why can't it be both ?

I am wearing the only official handcuffs of the debatingchristianity.com forum. Anything else is a cheap chinese knockoff.

In the name of the Left Cuff, the Right Cuff and the holy links, the one true [strike]god[/strike] probation handcuff.

It is funny you mentioned it, when I first saw his avatar i went and rechecked to verify that the probation avatar had not been changed.

In the name of my spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch, I deny your false cuffs.
Everyone can see that you lack the 'scarlet letter' which truly indicates the true believer.

What is your purpose in life, Darren?
Simply put, to leave the world a little better than I found it.
May I ask yours?
