Heaven & the Resurrection

Many believe that the righteous men and women from bible times such as Abraham, died and went to heaven.

If that is the case for you, how do you reconcile this with the idea of a future resurrection on "the last day"? What do you think this refers to.
JOHN 11: 24
Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."

"For if we live, we live to Jehovah, and if we die, we die to Jehovah. So both if we live and if we die, we belong to Jehovah" -
Romans 14:8

Those that doubt God do not necessarily hate God or God's ways. They simply see no evidence to believe that God actually works among humans or has a hand in history or to believe in fantastic tales. Many atheists/agnostics are highly moral and live humane lives. It can be said that they do not love God because they cannot love what they doubt; however, a doubter can still love those around her/him and appreciate the beauty she/he sees everyday. A doubter may not be able to honor that which she/he doesn't know, but still be able to honor that which is "said" to be Its creation.

This is beautifully expressed. I find it impossible to understand how people can "love" God but I have no problem admiring truth, beauty, love, compassion, understanding. As a little boy just confirmed I was informed that I had received the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, though I felt no braver, no wiser and no holier, except perhaps for the few minutes of pious submission. If it is impossible to love a God we cannot recognise, it is also impossible to hate him. Go well.

God knows all hearts, and he would not destroy someone who just didn't understand something. The people that he will not allow to remain are those that are incorrigibly evil, that have not a shred of love for Him or for other people.

This has been my point for some time--thank you. Yes. Further, it will be only those that KNOW and yet reject what they know to be true. People who haven't made up their mind one way or the other cannot be held accountable for rejecting something that they don't fully understand.

I have three sons that are still on the fence, out of my 5 children. I know that Jehovah will have mercy, and if he sees anything truly good in them, he will act mercifully.

Jehovah has provided for the salvation of all men, but every man must ACCEPT His provision for salvation. God and Christ offer salvation as a gift, but if a person doesn't take it, that person won't have it. Jesus has told us what we have to do to accept his sacrifice for our everlasting life.
