This is a pretty idea.dio9 wrote:
I've experienced a sort of epiphany recently . We may be looking for the soul in the wrong place . The soul may not be within our body , our body may be within our soul , and our soul is much bigger than we think it is. Our soul may be as big as everything , the world and the stars in the sky. Everything we see smell taste and touch as well as our inner sensations perceptions thoughts and feelings. Our soul may include both the objective and subjective worlds. Our soul is not one individual separate being but everything all together an interrelated and interdependent whole. in other words what I am saying is there is only one soul and we are in it. This soul is known by all people by many names , I call it God.
This is what you offer in the way of an explanation?Monta wrote: [Replying to Blastcat]

Sounds like a lot of fun.. do you mean that this is like one of those "thought experiments".. but in this case, for pure entertainment?
You are in good company. The monk Giordano Bruno in 1600 was stripped and burned to death for spreading this pantheistic view. Spinoza advanced it as well and since Einstein was influenced in what he thought by Spinoza, Albert said:dio9 wrote:

And Alexander simply cut the knot with his sword, solving a difficult problem in an easy way. I wonder what Swedenborg proposed.Monta wrote: [Replying to marco]
"We followers of Spinoza see our God in the wonderful order and lawfulness of all that exists and in its soul as it reveals itself in man and animal."
***Swedenborg calls this kind of reasoning Gordian Knot.
I have asked questions about what the Bible has said, and I'm not getting answers.dio9 wrote: [Replying to onewithhim]
And this scholar says the soul is God hiding in us, playing hide and seek if you will, waiting in delight for us to find him/her. Mystics of every tradition encounter the sacred within the ground of their being as if God is the positive magnetic pole and we the negative. Same and not the same.
