If the resurrection of Jesus actually happened,
Post #1If the resurrection of Jesus actually happened, and if there were some scientific or historical way that demonstrated the Easter event actually did occur, what would that prove?
My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Post #11It would prove that God has an immensely facetious sense of humour.Elijah John wrote: If the resurrection of Jesus actually happened, and if there were some scientific or historical way that demonstrated the Easter event actually did occur, what would that prove?
But I doubt it. Maybe it was a Christian who figured out that it was the only way that a reward of unquestionable value could be made to folks for sheepishly doing whatever they were told.
Imagine....... everlasting life could be yours for humbly giving yourself up to the ultimate controlling culture..... but if you cause any trouble at all..... excommunication, disfellowship.... and everlasting agony, the kind of humiliation and agony that being crucified must cause.... for ever!
Folks just had to believe it, and they were putty to be moulded as required.
And it worked...... for two thousand years!
If he knew, Yeshua Bar Yosef might be raging in anger, or laughing at the irony of it..... that is the question that interests me.

Re: If the resurrection of Jesus actually happened,
Post #12Just in case you forgot, JW, I asked you earlier why you think that with Jesus's resurrection being proven (for the sake of argument, this is a given), this now means suddenly other people are going to be resurrected.JehovahsWitness wrote:Elijah John wrote: If the resurrection of Jesus actually happened, and if there were some scientific or historical way that demonstrated the Easter event actually did occur, what would that prove?
Firstly it would prove that resurrections are possible.
It would prove there was a power that could bring life back to a person once dead.
And it would give hope to millions that have lost loved ones and yearn to see them again, hold them in their arms, be with them again. It would mean that the bible promises are built on solid realities and the hope of the ressurection on the "last day" will happen.
I did write earlier on this, her is the link in case you missed my post.ACTS 24:15
"having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked." NAS

Where's the logical progression from A to B?
Here's how I see it. Here's an analogy. I give $100 to a homeless person. Someone sees this, records it on video and then writes a book about it. In the book, the author says there is now a promise that rikuo will give $100 to every homeless person. Did I say that? Even if I did say it, does it automatically follow that my initial giving of $100 means that I will, most definitely, give $100 to every homeless person? What if I promise something but never deliver?
