Is the biblical Jehovah the most EVIL god ever imagined ?

In that case, they are to be treated differently than slaves and as you say, not permanently:Willum wrote: [Replying to post 48 by Tcg]
Slight amendment noting that the Bible states 'Jews' may be kept as slaves, just not long-term.
According to the text, the pharaoh was ready to capitulate but God hardened his heart so that he changed his mind and the plagues continued. The ultimate plague was the killing all of the first born of Egypt which included both humans and livestock. That is pure evil as far as I am concerned. This episode along with the torture of Job and the drowning of humanity in the great flood all point to God being an evil and merciless character.

It is possible that some of the god concepts of ancient history that are now more or less lost to us were more evil than the Jehovah god concept.SallyF wrote:brunumb wrote:According to the text, the pharaoh was ready to capitulate but God hardened his heart so that he changed his mind and the plagues continued. Given that not a soul ever demonstrates that the biblical Jehovah is anything more than imaginary
We may understand that the evil deeds of the genocidal Jehovah are the evil imaginings of the men who wrote what we have determined in this forum is:
a) propaganda
b) myth
c) fantasy fiction
d) historical fiction.
And we have determined in this forum that the biblical Jehovah is the most genocidal god ever imagined.
And we have determined in this forum that more evidence is offered for the existence of the Loch Ness Monster than there is for the existence of Jehovah.
And we have determined in this forum that the biblical Jehovah is NOT God with a capital G.
But we have NOT looked at other imagined gods to see if the writers of their "scriptures" have imagined gods more evil than the imaginary Jehovah.
Could ANY god POSSIBLY be worse than Jehovah ?
Sorry, I disagree with you. it was possible for others to also become a Jew and have the same rights.Tcg wrote:
In both of these examples we see that favoritism is the guiding factor, not righteousness.
Sorry, I disagree with that. Forgiving is not evil, because it is not same as accepting evil things. But, it seems to me that evil is also very subjective word. Apparently evil means to you something else than for me. Could you explain why forgiving is evil?Willum wrote: Isn't forgiving evil, in many and most cases, evil?

When the hardening happened by ending plagues, or by telling that pharaoh must free Jews, I think that is not bad.
That the plague ended, hardened pharaohs heart. When things were well, pharaoh thought that he would keep the slaves.brunumb wrote: According to the text, the pharaoh was ready to capitulate but God hardened his heart so that he changed his mind and the plagues continued.
Interesting that you are speaking of your self in plural. Sorry, you offer nothing to support that belief of yours.SallyF wrote: And we have determined in this forum that more evidence is offered for the existence of the Loch Ness Monster than there is for the existence of Jehovah.
