YHWH

Post by Wootah »

Y - the hand
H - reveals
W - the nail
H - reveals

How is anyone that believes YHWH is God able to negate the evidence above that YHWH is Jesus?

https://www.desiringgod.org/articles/je ... -is-yahweh

YHWH is the name above all names correct?

Philippians 2:9-11 says " Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Anyone want to directly confront both pieces of evidence?
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

"Why is everyone so quick to reason God might be petty. Now that is creating God in our own image :)."

PS - Without, I might add, you having refuted mine with anything stronger than sarcasm.
How have I been sarcastic?

Did I say sarcastic?
I am sorry, I seem to have forgotten what we were talking about.
Wasn't it about YHVH being identical to Jove, and you saying Bible verses proved something you did not mean?

Can you be clearer as to what you are talking about?

No, as what you have said is what I am talking about.
You painted yourself into a corner, I am just waiting for you to explain yourself in a consistent way.

We both know it can not happen, however.

I am waiting for you to tell me what I said that has "painted me into a corner." Please just be specific and tell me. So far I have no idea what you're talking about. All you have to do is explain it to me clearly.

I am confused - we predicted you (would have) had no good answer, and you answered with no good answer.
QED

I am satisfied, all my questions answered.
Views of others?

Is anyone else confused? Maybe elaborate?
I will never understand how someone who claims to know the ultimate truth, of God, believes they deserve respect, when they cannot distinguish it from a fairy-tale.

You know, science and logic are hard: Religion and fairy tales might be more your speed.

To continue to argue for the Hebrew invention of God is actually an insult to the very concept of a God. - Divine Insight

Sadly, you ARE confused. You don't choose to, or you can't, give me a simple explanation as to why you think I painted myself into a corner.

Have a pleasant evening.

Sadly, no one else on the forum is confused enough to answer your inquiry, either.
I don't think it is a benign God preventing folks from reading their previous answers, or admitting their mistakes and sins.

Now Satan on the other hand approves of dishonesty. I think he may even encourage Christians to compromise themselves in debate because he knows they will never admit or recant the sins of pride.

Your posts are just gobble-de-gobble. You haven't told me clearly just what you are talking about.

No one can prove that Odin never appeared as a raven, and, conversely, no one can prove that he did appear as a raven.

There we have a sort of conundrum. Neither idea can be proven. So what is true?

The same thing concerning Intelligent Design versus Darwinian Evolution. No one has seen an act of creation by an intelligent Source, and no one has ever actually observed a performance of the evolution of one animal to another species of animal, or even a non-living molecule evolving into a living organism. Both of these aspects are each taken on faith.

A person who would rather attribute the creation to Odin rather than Jehovah (the God of the Bible) surely is ready to stand by his belief to the end. That is his prerogative. I prefer to attribute the existence of the universe to the God of the Bible. We shall see who is right when this age comes to its end and all is revealed.

Jehovah's "invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world's creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable." (Romans 1:20)
