I know that currently, when a poster is put on probation they are fined tokens. I don't agree with this. I think that if they have done enough to warrant probation, then their status should be affected. In this case, I am referring to guru, prodigy etc... If these titles are suppose to show the maturity one gains through multiple posts, then I think if they are put on probation, their status should be penalized rather than their tokens.
Any opinions?

And I was going to suggest decapitation.
Seriously, I have never been much for probation, as a recovering forum host who eventually just disconnected the database from the forum and moved on, I'm still more for the decapitation.

Re: Probation
Post #3These titles are automatically determined by post count. So, there's nothing that can be changed with the titles.Confused wrote:In this case, I am referring to guru, prodigy etc... I can perhaps give a person under probation a special title though. Perhaps something like "I am a rule violater" or "In Purgatory" or "Bone Idle Probationee".

Notching back on the status of the person on probation would make sense. In some forums, a person on probation has to have their posts approved by a moderator before they are visible to the general public. I think that is a great idea. If we implement it, just give me a warning and I'll resign from being a moderator first.

Post #5I don't want anything this extreme, nor to the extremes of McCulloch. But if we can fine tokens, why not post counts?otseng wrote:These titles are automatically determined by post count. Re: Probation
Post #7Well, it would be strange to modify post counts. The post count is simply the number of posts a person has made. If it gets changed, then it won't reflect the number of posts anymore.Confused wrote: I don't want anything this extreme, nor to the extremes of McCulloch. We can put the picture next to the "Under Probation" title. Just like the way Site Supporters have a picture of a butterfly.McCulloch wrote: How about during the time of probation, the user's avatar to

Re: Probation
Post #9Just to be clear. I'm serious about my suggestions. Currently, there is primarily a "financial" pain with being placed on probation. And a little bit of shame being listed in the probation room. But unless one goes to visit the probation room, then it won't be noticed. However, additional shame can be given by putting a notice beside every post that person has made.Confused wrote:Ok. I give.otseng wrote:Well, it would be strange to modify post counts. I disagree with Vlad.
If you cut off their heads they will no longer be able to think, hear, see or learn.
I think we should cut off their bodies instead.
