Does anyone else feel out numbered?

Post by achilles12604 »

Its funny. According to the stats, there are more christians on this site than atheists. But from the posting on the forums it sure doesn't feel that way. I feel out numbered. Anyone else feel this way? Why do you suppose there arn't more Christian apologists? Are they busy doing good deeds or do you think they simply stopped caring?
It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.

Simply "sharing your faith" won't cut it out in the open forum. The level of debate here is higher than the average on the internet and one needs to be prepared to give a pretty convincing argument with good logic and solid evidence. If that is done, it doesn't matter how many opponents there are.
You should see the shellacking I get on YouTube! :punch:

Don't worry about it, Intrepidman. A lot of people who comment on YouTube are unpleasant in general (not just to you, believe me!), and you'll find that on these forums people conform to a far higher standard of civility - atheists and theists alike.

Hi Magus! God Bless You brother. I believe you are right. Sometimes it doesn't appear to be that way. But over time it certainly does. God Bless us All. And Good Will to all as may be acceptable to a non-believer. :D

Cheers Magus. I love forward to your posts. God's peace be with you. O:)

Yeah, they may be more civil, but they are just as pig-headed. I have a feeling I'm completely wasting my time here and on YouTube. I wonder how the owner of this forum could possible negate the Word of God as authoritative, yet the guesses of the lab-coated ones are considered gospel. I thought this forum would be different.

Hey Intrepidman, good to see you again. I was thinking. I don't know if you have thought of it this way before, But it took me a lot of years and intense praying during difficult times before I this thought was given to me.

And that is, As far as we are concerned, in respect to our spiritual growth, it doesn't really matter what "they" do. What matters is that we always try to do the right thing. No matter how we are treated, there's always a God-willed response. And Jesus taught us what that was by the way he lived his life and what he taught during it. So we only have to be responsible for "loving ALL" as Jesus taught. As long as we do that we are following God's Will. Weather "they" accept or reject our offer is THEIR FREE WILL CHOICE and they are COMPLETELY entitled to it.

And weather they accept or reject what we have to offer, OUR JOB is STILL the same. To Love them as Christ Loved us. He was clear, enemy or friend we love them just he same. IMHO O:)

When you get tired out. take a break. Get your spiritual batteries recharged. And come back when your ready to Love some More! :D I'm glad you're here Intrepidman! God's Love and Peace be with you. :D

I can relate to how you feel, as I take a regular beating around here myself. But I feel that my time is not wasted because I learn a lot and I become more and more familiar with the arguments from the non-believers and that makes me more effective when I meet people in real life who I get a chance to witness to, since I will have a quick and powerful answer for their objections to God.
I actually thank God for raising up such a smart group of 'teachers' who are willing to train me for the fight of faith.
So hang in there, as Jane Fonda says, "no pain no gain".

Hey olavisjo, Intrepidman, MagusYanam it's starting to get kind of cozy over here in the Holy Huddle. That's cool. :D

If we are outnumbered, I guess that kind of puts the odds in our favor! O:)

Joer, thanks for the well-wishes! I'd say, outnumbered or not, the odds are in our favour anyway - as we remain true and authentic to ourselves and our faith.

When debating among Christians, the Bible is certainly considered authoritative. But I think it's pretty obvious that when debating non-Christians, it would not be authoritative. It would be similar to debating a Muslim and the Christian to accept the Koran as being authoritative.
