What are the promises of Humanism? What are the promises of God?
Has Humanism failed to deliver its promises?
Has God always delivered on His promises?

I'm going to take a stab at part of this. One promise of Humanism is that if human rights and freedoms are protected in a systematic way in a society, that society will be, on the whole, happier than without liberty.

Due to the incompleteness resulting from the OP's actual intent, I would suggest making a new thread with a better formed OP and then asserting this on behalf of the Humanist Proponents' side. Then perhaps you could pm GentleDove and invite her to argue on behalf of God's promises position.
Unless indicated otherwise what I say is opinion. (Kudos to Zzyzx for this signature).

"Humanism" makes NO promises. Since no promises are made, no failures can be observed or identified.

There is no evidence that any of the thousands of "gods" have DONE ANYTHING AT ALL.

ANY of the thousands of "gods" proposed, imagined, worshiped, loved, feared, and/or fought over by humans MAY exist -- awaiting verifiable evidence
